"Looks like we landed a bit far from home base," said HugoLuman. "I'd rather not start anything we can't finish right now. I tend to avoid violence whenever possible. Come on, let's get out of here before they send someone to see what's going on."

The sunglassed figure regarded weird. He needed to think of a way to ask about things without seeming suspicious. He also needed to make sure that his host soul remained conveniently nearby. Merging with the spirit of that rogue Oliolli floating around hadn't quite given him the substance he needed.

"Good idea.  Let's use the strider harness, or, if you feel up to it, you can fly.  I'll still use the harness.

Wait a minute, why did I forget about that?  We could ride a rapacious one."

[I interpereted it more this way.  The nobility god offered a kind of "embassy" type of "assylum" for those who ask for it before dying, so that their souls have a free ride away from the proper path of passing. This was a kind of tounge and cheek snub, as a kind of lover's rub. Nir the death goddess finds it irritating, which is why the nobility god thinks it's funny.  However, this time the conflict of interest over you, and your "obligations", and in regard to the requirement fr both of them to maintain at least the illusion of free will in their servitors caused a horrible argument. My character only swore one oath, and has no allegiances to the nobility god. The only obligations he has to satisfy are the death goddesses'.  Since the ghost was taking assylum, weird sent the whole embassy, in order to satisfy his contract. A technicality for a technicality.  The road of the dead is NOT meant to transport physical substances. (You can't take it with you.) Further, the embassy table is meant to be in the world of the living.  As a return rub, the death goddess sabotaged the embassy so that nobody sane would want to use it, (really, who wants to hear two lovers cooing/arguing constantly?) Then sent it right back where it came from.  The ghost inside isn't really insane, just under a great deal of stress. The fact it saught assylum is immaterial, that its natural body died made it de-facto dead.  Hugo isn't dead, because his physical body did not actually die. He's a serious catch 22.]

[As for the "flirtatious behavior" between the two, this is a common theme in mythology, with gods and goddesses having no higher authorities to answer to, they are often hedonists. See for instance, all the flings and infidelities in the greek pantheon. Nir is more accurately approximated as the sister of the goddess of childbirth, both having spheres that overlap with the circle of life. She has more incommon with atropos, the greek fate that severs the strings of men's fates. Athel's string was cut. Hence wierd's compulsions.]

Clockwork hugo's in for some serious shit getting involved in the shennanigans of two divinities like that.  Just sayin. Eric and I could have some serious shit with him.

For reference, "nobility god" seems to have smackings of Apollo, as an archetype.

Compare: my made up "Nir", an hourglass wielding goddess who decides when, and how people die, and makes sure they go to the afterlife, and the two fates atropos and lachesis.

Her sister, the unnamed goddess of childbirth, sees spirits leave the afterlife to be reborn, oversees that process, and makes sure spirits get put into new living bodies. Compare her to clotho and demeter

The unnamed nobility god has trappings of zeus and apollo. That's why I had him being so letcherous.

"Zanzetkuken, I'll tell you right now I am deathly afraid of heights. It'll be some time before I try out my new wings. Why don't we just planeswalk there or something?"

Weird, Eric, Roead, the Table, and 'Hugo' went to the hospital to look at Gizogin's automatons. Along the way they passed by the Mk X. He looked at Hugo, not recognizing him at first. Then he did. Then he noticed how similar the body moved to his own, in a very precise, almost mechanical fashion. Wait, did that mean-

The eyes glowed red for a moment behind the sunglasses. The Hugo figure put a finger to his lips. "Shhh." Gizogin X tried to get the attention of the others, but suddenly he found that he couldn't speak or make any indication when he tried to blurt out the words. Some kind of compulsion had been placed on him.

That used up precious amounts of our strength. We must be more careful with ourselves. It was worth it. Yes, but it cannot be done again for a while. We suggest that our first priority be killing Oliolli. No, we say that we should find and secure the means to restore our full power first. We seem to be at conflict with ourself. Must harmonize to achieve anything. Agreed. We will separate when we are no longer a mere avatar of our greater self. Until then we must work with us on this.

[Clockwork Hugo, at full strength, is a threat to the entire world, including the divinities. As such, though, he's only hitching a ride. He is not concerned with their affairs, and has no current plans to interfere with them. He also hasn't done anything yet to raise a blip on the cosmic radar in this avatar.]

[They just drag it along.]

Wait. We were with the other Oliolli for a long while. We saw things at this place. Wait, why didn't we mention that to us before! Tell us everything!

And then Hugoli got an idea. He had a wonderful, awful idea. Let us adjourn to MrHappyface's former lab.

"You're awefully quiet Hugo..." weird mentioned.  Hugo had been acting suspicious the whole time. He was usually so outgoing, always thinking of other people's well being, and looking for ways to be helpful.  Since literally walking out of the blue, he had been acting tight lipped, stiff, and clingy, and had so far evaded all attempts at conversation.  It really wasn't like him. He'd have to keep an eye on him somehow. Maybe have some dead things tail him.

"Ok Roead, your show.  This looks like the gigozin Mk IV here near the table, cleaning up that puddle of puke. I don't know what needs to be done to it to make it a suitable vehice for athel, so, the show's yours. When your ready, we'll drive table boy out of that living hell he's so hell bent on staying in...."

Really. He had never come across such an obstinant ghost that willingly stayed in a literall hell rather than pass over. Well. It didn't matter now. His soul had traveled death's road, even if it had been a bit bumpy.  What he did now wasn't any skin off wierd's back.

[If your character coul recall our conversation; the easiest way to prepare something as a vessel for a mind is to inscribe the enchantment on it's surface. Once complete, the enchantment activates immediately and the object can be used, even if the enchantment is scrubbed off, until the object itself is destroyed. You'd still need me to do the transfer itself, and I'm unavailable.]

[Roead's a mummy. He's a product of similar animation. Since Athel has crossed death's road, albeit unwillingly, and riding in a crazy-train embassy table, he now has the free will choice of "returning" to the world of the living like ordinary ghosts do.  Mummies return corporeally because their corpses are specially preserved, and special spells that are not really necromantic in nature are said over it, consecrating it to his service, like an ushabpti. Athel can be given a similar option with the artificial body. It just hasn't been tried before... and unforseen side effects might crop up.]

-UNNEEDED MIND IMAGE.-

Corai walked around the fortress's perimiter, there was no way in without being seen by the fire-fighting dwarves. He didnt want to show up, not until everything blew over.

"Damn dwarves, what did they do? Test out a Weird Joykill sponsored magma-cannon?"
