[Given the theats he made earlier about trashing your lab, when wierd's flaming zombie kobolds come downstairs, spewing smoke and miasma everywhere, to dig out Roead's access tunnel to his sarcophagus, dr gizogin might well blow a few fuses.]

[I'm sensing fun times ahead, then.  I'm going to be busy tomorrow, unfortunately, but I'm sure someone can write in my reactions for me.  I don't respond well to people disturbing my work, or to people making a mess of my space.  No swearing, though.  I don't swear.]

[In this case, my character made the threats idly, to make dr gizogin stop harrassing the clearly unhygenic mummy when he came to visit him in the recovery ward. He won't actually trash any labs. That doesn't mean dr gizogin won't have a conniption. Especially since mrhappyface's place was recently torched, and blueprints keep walking off, coupled with wierd's own mechanical inclinations as an engineer. If I were gizogin, i'd be acting pretty paranoid.]

[On a partially-related note, do we have a TVTropes page yet?  It's certainly a long enough work to have earned one, in my opinion, and we have quite a number of tropes and whatnot.  If not (or even if we do), what would it be titled?  "If Bay Forum Were a Mountain Hall" doesn't exactly roll off the tongue.

EDIT: We need a characters page as well.  Mostly because I'm vain, and want to see myself on TVTropes.]

The fire was beginning to die down. The wind had ceased to blow in a reasonaly straight line and now swirled in a cyclone, preventing the fire from effectively spreading. What fuel was left in-range of the blaze was quickly becoming too moist for the heat of the fire to evaporate it and ignite the fuel, and everything out of range was already soaked. There were many tall bonfires left to deal with, but this freak storm had really saved their bacon.

Unfortunately, the dragon was nowhere to be found. He was there one minute, then gone. Nobody was paying attention at the time; neither the mining crew nor the various dwarves in the bucket brigade. It was just like the disappearances of Corai and Happyface. They had all simply vanished.

Gizogin came running in from the wilderness, yelling something or other at some dwarf that had been carrying buckets, and general disorder thrived. Some undead monsters came running out of the bushes to stamp out flames wherever they still flourished. Eric took a head count of his miners, considering their names to figure out who had been lost. Just Athel. But was he? He couln't recall whether Athel was one of them. He skulked back inside, where he bumped into Weird and Roead. Roead of course accused him of starting the inferno, and the explosion just prior. Eric swore he had no drect involvement with it. "This wasn't intentional by any means. I had significant safety measures being prepared to prevent exactly this from happening."

"Sounds like your idea of safety is to blow shit up from the sidelines." Roead spat back in a mocking tone.

"No. One of the miners thought it would be cute to spontaneously continue work on an excavation I had called off yesterday and breached the magma pluton we were going to draw from. That's the explosion you heard and what started the fire."

"And why the hell would he do that? I'd wager you ordered him to! I know what you've been up to, kid. You've done a horrible job of hiding it; leaving Urist the farmer in the closet, how you control those centipedes of yours without any body language or spoken commands, as if they beleived you were their mother. So what happened to this poor bastard, then? You got him killed didn't you?!" The undead abomination was practically in his face.

Eric was shocked. He didn't think anyone had noticed. Urist was completely silent while in that closet. He'd ordered the centipedes to simply act passive and uninterested.

"Urist was an accident. I never intended for that to happen. And I did not order the moron to kill himself. The miner died because he didn't follow the orders I did give him. If I thought he would do that, I would have used the magics you've become aware of to convince him not to. It serves no good to me or anyone else to intentionally kill anyone. But... I need to talk to you about that." he said turning to Wierd. "Err, I mean, the miner might not actually be dead, just mildly disembodied, but I can't be sure about that either now... You should come with me. Public is no place for this argument."

@ Gizogin: Well, start working on one! The only reason is that none of us has started one yet. I'd do it, but I'm not so good with wiki html. Other people who read this thread would likely be willing to work on the page, as is the nature of TVtropes and this forum.

"Omnicidal Maniac," "Diablos Ex Machina," "Balefull Polymorph," "Giant Space Flea From Nowhere," "Incendiary Exponent," and "Loads and Loads of Characters" to name just a few. Plenty more, but it wouldn't be any shorter than the pages for other community stories.

The Mk. X, having overhead the end of this conversation, joins in.

X: Well hang on, sometimes killing someone intentionally can do a lot of good!  Why, just last week I, um, certainly didn't kill-  I'll just stop talking now.
Eric: Hang on, are you actually Gizogin, or are you that robot he built a few days ago?  The Mk. X, or whatever it is.
X: Oh, what, you can't tell?  Clearly I'm Gizogin, and I'm frankly insulted that you wouldn't recognize me.  No robot, not even one built by my incredible intellect, could match my rugged good looks and perfect hair.
Eric: Yeah, you're the X.  Actually, I think Gizo was looking for you, so if you could please excuse us...

[I was mostly being sarcastic. Actually I do wonder why every community game wants their own TVtropes page. Just, why bother?]

[Gizogin, that is just hilarious. :P]

Damn, my hands are tied until Zanzetkuken comes back. Well, me directly.

"Yeah, mind your own bloody business, you... whatever the fuck you are." growled Roead at the Mk X. He and Weird began following Eric down the hall, until they were out of earshot from everyone else. "Just to let you know, you little wanker, a geas won't work on me. So talk straight, or talk to the back of my hand."

Weird seethed underneath a calm exterior.

What was that wretched mummy thinking, jumping the gun like this! If you are gonna contront a necromancer, make sure you do it on YOUR terms. Gods! A few dead things in eyeshot, and you got yourself war of the worlds crossed with night of the living dead.

'Think positively.' He thought to himself.  Maybe Roead had come up with a clever defense to having people's minds dance like puppets... maybe... he hoped...

Corai, miles away, could see the dieing fire and the storm was hitting hard. He was using a very large leaf to cover himself as a umbrella.

"Now what have those idiots done.." He thought, facepalming. It was the first fort all over again he could tell, but without creepers or daleks.

(Eric, writing the conversation, had made Roead jump the gun.)

"Y'see, you can't really put an influence over a dead bloke. Maybe you can reanimate some toenails or whatever if you're a necromancer, but if someone is dead and got a mind of their own, it just doesn't quite work. A mummy can't be dominated so easily; if you're buried by people who believe in this stuff and do the rituals, it keeps your will around and binds it to the tomb. So, my will is protected from outside influence, and is pretty damn strong."
