"That won't be the only thing that could be killing us. Zanzetkuken, is there a way of removing this spark, or at least rendering it inactive? There is a huge problem here."

HugoLuman suddenly convulsed in agony. Recovering himself, he stood up. "Oh no. It's starting. Quick, I need an answer!"

"Keep explaining," said Zanzetkuken, running over different possibilities in his mind.

[Whoa, a fire?  It's just outside the fortress, yes?  Okay, I haven't been paying attention to the map very much, so this might be impossible, but no matter! (impossible because, from the direction I am returning from, I might not run into the blaze)]
The Mk. X returned to the fortress to find a massive brush fire raging, a thunderstorm raging overhead, and a dragon and a team of miners working together furiously to contain the blaze.
Welp, I must be in the right place.  I should probably offer a hand.
Calling out to a nearby dwarf with a bucket of water:
Who's leading these firefighters?

Weird stretched, then cursed himself for doing so. Old habits died hard. Gods he wished he could gesture the broken ribs away.

On the table were 2000 200mg aspirin tablets drying in the lamplight, rolled from starch extracted from longland flour.  He hoped nobody had cilliac disease. Or reyes... because these were what he had, and he wasn't sure he was up to cooking up more. Cereal free, starch free, aspirin free pain releivers would have to wait until he had all the right equipment and fascilities to make acetamenophen.

The dwarf he basically told to get stuffed with the fire fighting hadn't returned with any ashes. Typical. He didn't know why some part of him actually expected to get any.  He *HAD* been quite crass with the guy.

Hobbling out of his room, he was still connected to the dead kittens and kobolds that had been standing around getting rancid in the sun at the blasted ruins of the 'bold bay. Reaching his thoughts out to them, he sent the summons for them to meet him outside. The lifeless non-thoughts of the dead were something you eventually got used to having in the back of your mind when you become a necromancer, but the smell of rotting flesh was something you never quite get over finding nauseating.

He couldn't help with the fire, but if a few undead things died fighting the fire, it was less to make the air reak when the wind blew wrong.

Roead found the upper halls mostly deserted, dwarves running outside with buckets of water. He could guess what that meant. "Looks like I'd better stay indoors. Probably not do much out there but become a light source."

"When I got this... spark... all of me got it. There's only one of me, but two of me as well. My timeline is fragmented. In one shard, here's me. In another, there's me with my mind broken from the infinite information of the entirety of causality poured into my head, and driven to omnicidal rage from something I saw in there. You get where I'm going? The other half of me is now realizing he might now be able to go between dimensions at will. I think we both know that the other me should stay where he is."

"I could try to sever the connection and draw the entire spark into just you and not the clockwork you, but it may do great harm to both of us.  I am fine with that, but are you?" asked Zanzetkuken to Hugo.

This scene may have to wait till tomorrow unless we post fast.  I have to get off now, so this has to wait until tomorrow..

Spoiler: later in scene (click to show/hide)

Heading towards the ramp leading up into the courtyard, weird bumped into his co-conspirator, Roead.  While he couldn't see roead's face because of the dirty brown wrappings (which was probably a good thing.) The pose the old mummy was displaying was every bit as expressive s any face could have ever been. He was in a state af near disgust and impatience.

"You've looked better, Roead." Weird said casually.

"There is a link between your minds.  If I use blue mana, I can shatter it, splitting you into two entities, and I can guide the spark into you."

This will have to wait until tomorrow to resolve.  I have to get off.

Okay, read this tomorrow:

"I would probably be destroyed if you tried that. Is there any other way? If not, just do it! We're running out of time!"

[You've still got Roead to play with.  Weird isn't going to be swinging a pickaxe any time soon, and has summoned his kobold minions to help put the mess out. If they catch fire and become !!zombies!!, at least they will stop reaking up the air. They can continue to dig while on fire. Dwarves can't. They can also help roead with his little cave-in problem.]

The Mk. X now helping to contain the fire (helped greatly by its immense strength and endless stamina {it's a machine, after all}), it's time to see what the real Gizogin is doing (not to say that the Mk. X isn't real or isn't also Gizogin, but you know what I mean)

Actually, I'm just taking a nap.  Sorry, no excitement here.
