Things were going smoothly.  The willowbark had made a tincture that tasted like it was overflowing with raw salicylic acid. That is.. until the interruption.

A red-faced and flustered dwarf with singed facial hair and smelling heavily of such and stale plump helmet wine burst into the room, demanding aid in combatting a raging fire outside.

"Do I look like I am in any condition to be cleaning up other peaople's messes?" He asked sardonically, pointing to the oversized plaster cast that encased his entire midsection and chest. "Even if I were, my attire isn't up to the task either."  With a wave, he gestured to the busted and sorry excuse of a hazard suit that had only just barely spared him from being crushed to death days earlier.

The dwarf looked displeased.

"I'm kinda busy here." Weird continued. "We don't have any pain killers except for a mallet to the head, and while doctor gizogen seems to relish doing that to his patients, being one of them, I personally don't. Now. Unless you DO like getting beat in the head before getting something done, I suggest you let me get back to work. Nitrous oxide and oral analgesics don't make themselves out of thin air."

the displeasure turned into redfaced outrage.

Weird reached down and snagged a now empty water bucket from the floor.

"If you want to do something useful, fill this with ashes from the fire outside. I need some sodium hydroxide to complete my reagent cabinet."

"An Jus who doya think is gunna USE your damned poisons if the blasted fort burns down 'round yer damn ears!?" He bellowed.

"Well, then for both our sakes, you'd better snap to it then!" Weird chided absently. "Honestly, this place is always one fart away from a thermonuclear explosion, or a deadly ass rotting plauge, psychotic kobold invasions, or dragons dropping giant piles of crap everywhere. I'm taking the day off this time. Honestly.... can't you guys clean up after your own messes?"

The nameless dwarf made a face like he was going to respond, then just turned and left the room, slamming the door behind him.

"About gods damned time." Weird muttered, loading some distilled ammonia into the catalytic convertion system he had cobbled together using the platinum mesh, then lighting it off.

This place had more interruptions than a hyperactive kid with a stuttering problem.

Woah, let's ease off on the meta, Corai. Things will get head explodey if you don't.

HugoLuman looked around, seeing fires beginning to flare up. Cut off the main fire using a controlled fire, Eric had said. Well, he wasn't too familiar with his abilities, and he didn't think he knew how to properly set a controlled blaze through any means. Dragons are not known for putting fires OUT, after all.

Hang on a... If he could only remember that ice shout. Damn, this might take a minute.

-I dont know Hugo,  I am just trying to get my character back to the Bay 12 world after they misunderstanding, which was epic. PARADOXES ARE GOING TO BE EVERYWHERE.-

-Edit, perhaps we only were warped in a sense, we still exist. I.E I am still there, I am typing that Corai is attacking me in the RP, thus he is. Were actually in the RP, we arent real. Were just tools of ourselves.

...What did I just type? WHAT. DID. I. JUST. TYPE?-

I prefer to think of it as our minds were duplicated and transferred into the game.  They would have then been given bodies, and Hugo would have been one of the first transferred due to the split personality.  Paradox solved!

I remember the first two words are "Yo Kran.."

This is an RP. If us, the ones typing it, exist in the continuity of the story at our computers typing it from within the story, it's just too meta. It just seems to take a lot of the weight out of all the situations.

-I have no idea how, why, or the reason for why I am actually typing the second post, I should had just cleared things up and respawned elsewhere, but meh. I already typed one, might as well cause a paradox!

BUT THEN ZANTETKUKEN FIXED IT, DARNIT. Why you make explanation?-

This place had more interruptions than a hyperactive kid with a stuttering problem.

-You scare me every time you manage to describe me by accident... Well, I am gonna get one more post of this real like stuff  I somehow got into so I can get back into the... fake world. Improv is fun, aint it?-

-And Hugo, my head has already exploded. So Corai is just staring at a paradox, frozen in time... Nope!-

"ARMOK SMITE ME." Corai screamed, pulling out the pocketknife.

"This is so meta.." The human said.

"THE HELL DOES META MEAN?" Corai said, sprinting towards him.

"WHY DIDNT I LEARN HOW TO FIGHT." the human screamed, jumping away, Corai slammed into the desk, making a dent.

"Where- Oh, hes gone..." He said, hearing a door slam elsewhere in the building.

"Now whats this thing..." Corai said, jumping onto the desk, looking at the machine.

"...Bay 12...post....profile...WHAT IS THIS STUFF?" he said, looking at the screen before he blacked out.

---

"Wha... Why am I in a tree again?" he said, looking down.

"I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO HAPPY TO SEE ELVES! NEVER SO HAPPY!" he screamed.

-Fianlly, RP world... The paradox is over. And I didnt have to kill myself, I'll need to explain why theres blood and a dent in my desk, but its all good.-

-AND NOONE BRING THIS POST UP, its just annoying IMHO. It causes headaches.-

Let's get off the meta.  You remember that shout!  It's "Fo Kran Diin!"  Better One!  Storm Call- "Strun Bah Qo!"

I myself was ninja'd by ZTG.

HugoLuman recalled the first word of the frost shout, and yelled "Fo!" at a nearby flaming shrub. The blast of cold air puffed out the flames.

There was a rumble, and a peal of thunder from outside.  Honestly, if somebody burst in asking about rain now, he would murder them himself with their own intestines.

The aspirin had gone through 2 recrystalizations and alcohol washes, and was now an off-white crystalline frost forming on the edges of a shrinking pool of evaporating alcohol on the oversized watchglass resting on some paper on his wooden desk.  Keeping things from blowing up in here was hard enough, what with the exothermic nitrogen reaction going on in the catalytic reactor, the alcohol lamps heating various solutions in vials, and liquid alcohol simply evaporating into the room.  Keeping from gassing himself from the nitrogen reactions was hard too. He had routed the exhaust from the catalyzer into several stone pots filled with water. He needed a real lab, with real vent hoods, but this makeshift shelf would have to do for the time being.

But for all the hard work, he nearly had a batch of aspirin ready, and was well underway in cooking up some anasthetic gas to stock the hospital with, in addition to refining and processing several minerals and salts for lab use.  All in all, this had been a very profitable evening. He had collected over a kilogram of raw salt from the two buckets of seawater he had paid jerry to get. More than enough to win his bets.

Yes. Today had been very good indeed.

Something occurred to HugoLuman. Of course! How could he have been so stupid?

"STRUN BA QO!"

Nearly instantly, a thunderhead began to form over the area. He doubted the rain would be able to completely extinguish the fire, but it would certainly help. As the drops fell on him, they sizzled and soon he was covered in steam.

[Hugo, you would also be able to tear the grass out by the roots with your claws. Rather rapidly, even. That would be a good way to prevent the fire from finding fuel in large enough quantities to propogate, and that's pretty much what the mining team will be doing.]

-----------------

Eric charged back out of the fortress gates with a dozen dwarves in tow, all running in their mockery of bipedalism with their upper torso and arms flailing behind their hips as they ran. [Because dorfs run like Ed without knees, of course!] The troop came to a stop 30 yards from the southern flank of the inferno and began making a massive fire break, ripping the ground apart in a 17-meter-wide strip, travelling parallel to the marching column of wind-blown flames. The fire break would prevent it spreading farther southward or eastward. The forest to the west contained a system of lakes a few miles out that could also be channeled as a buffer against the brush fire. Eric took 3 of the most agile miners and made a mad dash to reach them and begin diverting water. They were only so fast, though, and even though the wind was blowing perpendicular to and away from them, or north, the fire had a 50-yard lead. Even though they gained on it, the inferno would overtake them if they stopped short of the lakes. Hugo could outrun it, but hugo was handling the eastern flank of the blaze.

At best, the fire would consume everything north-west of the fortress, and at worst, their efforts would be in vain and the fire would simply consume any low-lying vegetation for miles around in every direction.

[edit!]

Suddenly, a massive storm began to pile up overhead, and rain poured down on the surroundings. This freak storm may be enough to prevent much more spreading, but the task of digging the fire-breaks and water channels was still necessary.

Now he remembered the urgent task that he had burst in upon Weird about. Damnit, no time to loose! He concentrated very hard, trying to figure out how to use planeswalking. I need to find Zanzetkuken.Suddenly, everything felt weightless for a moment.

Zanzetkuken found a medium sized dragon, about grizzly bear sized, in front of him. Hugo.

Vemini and Super Plump Helmet Man rushed outside to join the fire crews...

Why does the saying, "It's not a dwarven fort unless the surrounding area is burnt to a crisp!"

Seriously though, if the fire starts to get too big, Saurinae, Indewin, and Askak will step in.  They can stop it easily.

"Greetings Hugo, why have you come to me?  I suggest we head to Alara, to prevent the blind eternities from killing us.  Can't last long out here."

Zanzetkuken directed Hugo to Alara and they appeared outside of Naya Panorama, near the relic of Progenitus.

"Speak your mind, fellow forumite and planeswalker."
