Oliolli charged Abediah, scooping up his hammer. He leaped atop the great basalt beak, and then brought the hammer down into the other eye. With it smashed open, he entered, and began smashing his way through to the brain.

Abediah, forgotten beast, has been struck down.

Shambling undead kobolds, and mewling zombie kittens.. sme horrbly melted, others covered in giant spider ichor, wandered aimlessly over the concourse.

Slow curls of frosty air swirled around a pillar of gleaming ice in the middle of the desolation.

In a dark room, with one wall a bank of screens, there was a figure silhouetted against the light of the flashing images. Occasionally the image of an amphibian flashed across one screen or the other. He sat at the computer, pondering. Those planeswalkesr were getting to be a nuisance. That was the problem with omnipotence; you weren't the only one. Sure, there might be a little corner, some universe or multiverse, where you mostly called the shots. But there were always other beings. No one could control all of Reality. Though physical laws might change between universes, and inter-universe physics might change between multiverses, but that one and only thing remained constant between all of them.

For each of these beings, having infinite power, therefore had equal power. If they opposed each other, they canceled each other out. Even if an infinite amount of them joined against just one, they would be evenly matched. That is why they needed pawns. For those lesser entities, because of their free will, could tip the balance.

Weird woke up. He was on a stretcher, and the stars were still out. There was a faint lightening of the sky in the east, though dawn was still hours away. The wound in his shoulder was bandaged and very sore, but he could move his arm again. Vemini sat cross-legged next to him. "One good turn deserves another." He held up a small bowl with traces of puke-green fluid in it. "This fell out of that smug kobold's pocket. He must have stolen it from the tower dining hall."

That overgrown lizard was becoming a nuisance, making a mockery of his ascended dwarves with his pet newts. Well, two could play at that game!
He leapt out from his chair, his two remaining agents following closely. Pressing a hidden button behind the oven of his furnace, he watched it slide to the side, revealing a passageway down. They weren't fully cleared for combat, and there were only 5, but that had to do. Desperate times called for desperate measures: The Urist Orion Supersoldiers:

The figure looked at his computer screen, laughing. Perhaps now those meddlesome dragons would stay out of this. He congratulated himself on successful manipulation. Free will, maybe, but still receptive to outside situations. Subtlety, that was the key. Soon, they would be at each others' throats, and his goal achieved.

"Did he get away?" Weird rasped.  Gods he was tired.  In the back of his mind, he felt his thralls still wandering aimlessly.

"Pardon?" The iron skined elf asked.

"The kobold. Corai."

"  dragon ran off with him." He said.

Weird closed his eyes.

"Damn. Almost had him that time." He said.

"I take it you don't like him?" Vemini asked.

"You could say that.  He's always stirring up trouble, or.." he reached for his shoulder. "Shoving copper into me somewhere."

"You *were* trying to kill him with an army of angry undead cats..." vemini chided.

"He had it coming." Weird scowled.  At least it was quiet now. "I'm tired. Tell me about it in the morning."

The tinman nodded.

Weird let his thoughts disperse, relaxed, and felt the exhaustion crash in around him, dragging him off to dream.

HugoLuman looked at the card, recalling Zanzetkuken's message.

I don't want this kind of power.

He was a firm believer that most of the problems of the world were caused by too few people having too much power. As the power grew, so did the weight of the obligation to use it right, and if that weight was placed upon too few people, it tended to crush them. Always he feared being responsible for such a misuse of power, feared being part of the problem.

Take the card away. I won't accept it.

[Ooc]

Just to get this out there... I am displeased with all the OP shennanigans going on. Seems every 5 minutes somebody's screwing around with tablets, letting the HFS out at a children's birthday party to make baloon animals (out of the children), or inventing deus ex machinas with copious abandon.

Meanwhile, my poor character keeps getting the beatdown put on him for trying to stop the madness.  He's gonna turn into a total asshole at this rate! He might just waltz up to one of ZTGs OP dragons, and unload a fire extinguisher full of CO2 and borax powder into its face, then ride it like a rodeo bull back to the citadel to start breaking all those deus ex machinas so he can have some semblance of normalcy in his life.

As it stands, he hasn't had a chance to rebuild his lab yet, is buggered up what good, and his hazard suit is now a hazardous suit, made of shattered ceramic, with a big ol hole in the shoulder.

Seriously.

And those eggs still haven't been sorted out.  Cut it out with the premadonna crap, ok guys?

Yes, finally!

I actually tried to let myself be killed off, or at least incapacitate myself for a while, but I was saved.

I think I will fess up to the letting HFS out to mutilate children comment. It is fairly accurate.

I agree, I cant really see anything that Weird has done thats godmode either, hes the only one that took any injuries without "Lawl immunity" or "Lawl dodge out of the way."

/respect

-Edit-

Plus me and ZtG are out of the way, so the godmodders (Me, respawning) and ZtG (Dragons) are out of the way for awhile.

The strange thing is, I see him as a sort of de-facto leader of this group. He really seems knows how to take charge when things get rough (at least in the story.)

I would be the first to say that when people start pulling out Deus ex Machinas, I pull out Diablos ex Machinas. It's just that retconning things seems so jarring, so throwing in huge disasters is the only way of I can think to deal with godmodding.

[Wow.  A few hours of Skyrim, and I come back to 10 more pages of... stuff.  A lot of fighting?  Is this all still happening at Bay Bold?

Anyway.]
Yes!  I'm so close!  All I need to do is activate the reactor, and the X will be online!  Now, where did I put that key...
Gone.  The key is gone!  Where is it?  I can't start the X without it!  It was just here, on my desk, before Reoad showed up...
But why would he have taken it?  How could he have taken it?  I was there the whole time!  I would have seen!  It must have been someone else.  When I was having my ribs stitched up?  Of course!  My workshop was messed up!  Whoever did that must have taken the key!
Hmm...  I don't know who that was, though.  I could make a new key, of course, but I don't want two of them floating around.  It would take a while, too.
