Hmm, this hospital is still missing something...
Victims!  Patients!  Wait, no, having no patients is a good thing.  Yeah.

The Mk. X is coming along nicely.  So far, I've only run into one minor snag: I'm out of materials.  I have absolutely nothing left to work with, unless I cannibalize the Mks. VI-VIII, which I don't want to do.  Miners, metalworkers, and furnace operators: get me more materials!  The future of medicine depends on it!

What do you need?  I can send a dragon over with the parts.  We'll trade you what you need for the blueprints to mark VIII.

I'm going to need several pounds each of iron, steel, brass, rubber, and red diamond.  I don't have much to go, but I can't get anywhere without raw materials.

If you could just send the materials over as soon as possible, I'll get to work on drawing up those blueprints.  I have to redraw them from my notes, but it won't take too long.  They should be done around the time your dragon gets here.  Also, it might be best if you sent over the mechanic who's going to be using these blueprints.  They're insanely complicated, and there are many details I need to make sure they take into consideration.  If it's not going to be possible, I could write them all down, but I'd prefer to go over them in person.

EDIT: Oh, and I'll need an agreement that these blueprints will not be copied or distributed without my express, written permission.  They're a significant portion of my life's work, and I'll not have them spread across the land for all to see.

Was planning on sending a leg. mechanic over anyway.  Currently loading up the items requested.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Edit: Don't worry, the mechanic's mind is shielded, and will put the blueprints into his didactic memory, so you can destroy them immediately.

Usually a simple NDA and a "proprietary" disclaimer on the blueprint with a date is sufficient, but we would need to enact some form of dwarven copyright law that the RIAA (Researchers for Industrial Automations Association), and the MPAA (Machinists Promoting Automated Augmentations) won't use to commit indescriminate massacres of 6 year old dwarven children and old granny dwarves over.

(LOL!)

Interesting last remembrance on the old thread, Hugo.
That part of your post. By an ocean away, I meant our new home is on different continent from the old one.

(Throwing plot lines out there, hope not to run into this for a while.)

The former Apprentice blocked the punch, and threw his assailant onto the floor. The elf jumped up, and charged the Apprentice again. This was countered with several swift jabs of the quarterstaff to the ribs, and a powerful one to the nose, bringing him to his knees. "You must be quicker than that."
His assailant tried to rise from his knees with a punch aimed at the chest. The Apprentice merely grabbed the fist, squeezing it until there was a loud crack and the other elf screamed. "How many times must I tell you? You must make your opponent hurt, use pain to make them surrender! You yourself must be impervious to pain, or you will be destroyed. Go dip your hand in the salve and come back when the bones have repaired."
"Yes, my Ithera," said the elf, bowing.
After a lengthy training session, the former Apprentice dismissed all his pupils and replaced the staff on the weapon rack. He went out to the north courtyard, where the iron plate was nailed to the wall. Now he began his evening regime; 500 punches to the plate. Today's demonstration had been sad. Would those students ever learn? Cifano-Amoru was not merely a new way of fighting. It was a philosophy, a way of life. Pain-Mastery.

He understood the true message of the goddess, unlike that fool, the old master. Those words of the goddess, about mixing pain and pleasure, until they became one? There was truth there, but not in the literal meaning. Such words were a trap for simpletons and unworthy fools. He saw the meaning underneath, the true purpose of those words. What the goddess taught was not a new, more perfect understanding of the world, but rather simple common sense that most people were still too stupid to see. Pain for others, pleasure for yourself. One must inflict pain, thus gaining respect and fear. In this way the wills of others may be controlled. When those who stood in the way begin to act in accordance with your desires, you shall share your pleasure with them. In this was the wills of others may be controlled as well.

It was so pure and simple, really. Rewards and punishment. It was the secret to true power, not any magic or trickery. The one who is feared most and can inflict the most pain shall be the master. Pain must be applied carefully, strategically. Too much pain can make on resistant. One must become resistant to pain, lest they be susceptible to the domination of others.

497, 498, 499...

With a loud crack, the iron plate sheared in half under the last punch. One day, he thought, the whole world shall bow before me.

The dragon has arrived with the supplies for Gizogin.  He is also having SPHM become the ambassador to the fort for the dragons.

-snip-

I see conflict with my civilization's interests within the future.  I shall refer to this guy, and his allies, as the 'Dinisdiquod.'

That actually works with one idea that I had.

Now if you excuse me, I am going to fight Nicol Bolas at the place that I once refered to as "the ruins of the old fort" on the map.

Might want to maintain healthy air of caution around this dimension for the sake of your people. Just put the homeland on permanent low-level alert towards this plane.

Bolas was tough, Zanzetkuken could give him that.  He dodged a lightning bolt cast by the planeswalker.  He retaliated with a sunlance that destroyed the vampire Bolas had summoned.  Zanzetkuken followed up by casting a phantom beast that launched itself at Bolas.  It did not land, for it was quickly destroyed by a doom blade.  'This is going to be a long fight' thought Zanzetkuken as he summoned a wall of frost to stop Bolas' next attack.

Googled that thing, try to find some way to wrestle him out of this plane! I don't think we're established enough to survive another world-threating catastrophe.

Oh Nicol Bolas, you so silly.

Anyway, it's trading time!  One set of blueprints (about two hundred pages, all told) for a collection of raw materials, as per our previous arrangement.  Now, Mr. Dragon Mechanic, there are a few details I need to talk you through after you've had a look through those blueprints...

Suddenly, a mummy charged into the Depot. "Alright, which one of you sods is in charge, eh? I've woken up from a bloody long sleep and I am VERY cranky!" Roead crossed his leathery arms. "And in the name of the gods, why the bloody hell are there so many kobolds around here!?"

Dragon Mechanic - Oh yes, I brought along a couple bars of firebrand for you to use in critical areas of the Mark X.

Um, there is no dragon caravan right now.  One dragon came with some materials for Gizogin, and I think they are in his office.
