I think we're on another continent from the old fort, as we tried to get as far away as possible. Also, that dwarven trader had to walk across the bottom of the sea to get to us...

Kofthefens looked at Roead. "Um..."
"Well? I haven't got all day!"
"I don't really know... we're not exactly from around here."
The mummy hissed. "Bugggerit! Kids these days, can't even tell what year it is."
"Hey!"
"Listen, whippersnapper, who's in charge around here!? I want to file a complaint about the noise you sods make! Bloke just can't be dead with all that racket!"
One of the skeletal rabbits came around the corner at this point. Seeing Kofthefens, it tried to strike a menacing pose, but its skull fell off. "Honestly," grumbled Roead. "This is what I get for dying in a piss-poor kingdom."

Mrhappyface waited outside the "operating" room. It was still a rather small area converted to a surgical room. Gizogin grudgingly agreed to look at the experimental cybernetics blueprints. Mrhappyface saw a thin smile curl upon Gizogin's lips, and he wasn't sure whether or not to be happy or horrified.
But that was the hard part. There were a surprising amount of volunteers from the migrants. Urist Slowsqueeze, a cheesemaker jumped when heard of the discount booze and even when as far as strapping himself to the surgical table himself. Gizogin chuckled at this act and motioned Mrhappyface to leave the room at this point. The last thing he saw was Gizogin pulling out a series of rather viscious looking blades and approaching Urist.
It has been several hours since it started and Mrhappyface was starting to get sleepy. Maybe it was a failure? Well, there's always something to learn from that. He was starting to doze off when he saw the double doors open. Gizogin was carting Urist out of the room with a wheelbarrow.
"Well? Was it a success?"
Gizogin smiled at that. He tipped over the barrow and Urist fell out in a rough tumble. "See for yourself."
Mrhappyface looked closely at the dwarf. There were the usual surgical scars around his skull, but the most peculiar thing was that Urist's usual, drunken smile was gone. Mrhappyface slapped the dwarf across the face, trying to wake him up. No reaction. Mrhappyface shrugged and then threw a quick jab at the dwarf. It never landed. Mrhappyface ended up on the ground and Urist  restraining him to the ground in a hammerlock.
"OK! OK!" he Mrhappyface wheezed at Gizogin's dark chuckling. "The project passed!"

I hope this research doesn't lead to, ahem, anyone being "DELETED," if you get the reference. Or "UPGRADED."

Also hope no one finds my stash of books taken from that elf tower. One of them is the secrets of grafting both living tissue and inorganic matter, with both magical and mundane methods. Still, I'd say they're in a pretty good hiding place. Not even that kobold who put them there will remember where I told him to hide them!

Oh please, I've been subtly (or not-so-subtly) alluding to the Cybermen the whole time.  There was the whole thing about making artificial organs and permanent metal armor, and my drastic alterations to living things.  At least, that was the plan; I basically abandoned it when I settled on making a robotic replica of myself.

I know exactly where those books are, since Maectur read your thoughts and relayed them to me!  Both me and Maectur have decided not to speak of their location, however.

Do not forget that Maectur and I have left with five other dragons!

And you have to admit, with that ability, dragons make pretty good spies.  Especially the humming-dragon species, which are only a little larger than a humming-bird.

I exist as an astral projection through sheer force of will. Do not be so sure your information is correct. For all you know, it is a false trail.

I start working on more augmentations. I will make sure that they ask for this! After all, if your vision is not augmented, then how can you wear sunglasses at night?

It would most likely be a false trail, if it wasn't gotten from the mind of the kobold who put the books in the location, while he was placing the books there.

Of course, it doesn't matter, since my civilization learned of that ability long ago.  It is how the armor of the civilization's shape-shifters works.

Have you even made a caste with shape-shifting abilities yet?

I made sub-castes of every race that are werewolves and transform on the full moon, but aren't insane by default and so will not murder your dorfs. They will, though, transform when they would normally flee from a fight and also become engraged easily whilst transformed.

Oh gawd. I hope this doesn't turn into a cyborg-dwarf/shapeshifter/dragon/kobold war in the future.

You mean dragons and shapeshifters vs. cyborg-dwarf vs. kobold war.

Could you post how to do that in my mod's thead?
