"Worthy of a visit INDEED. I think not. If you revere us so much, release the kobolds to us now!"

"Why, of course my lord! I shall take you to them immediately. You can be assured I have treated them most comfortably. Kobolds are especially sacred to the Goddess, but I'm sure you know that."

The continued down the hallway, and passed through a large room towards a spiral staircase. The room was filled with elves, feasting and drinking. No outwardly freakish ones, but from behavior it seemed that their wine was spiked with drugs. Some of them stood over braziers burning some kind of herb, inhaling the fumes deeply. Others touched their hands to the braziers, and then placed them into bowls of puke-green substance, withdrawing them with the burns healed.

I apologize for the interruption of these events, but back at the fort...

Fully supplied emergency bunker, plenty of beds, deep underground (but not in caverns), and it should have a situation room. I think it would be a good investment, given our track record.
A properly excavated and isolated section of cavern would be beneficial as well though.

Trees, "grass", cropland.

Protection from invaders and fliers.

...I have these things done, but I will put in an additional bunker below the caverns.

Spoiler: Map of the Fort (click to show/hide)

Eric, choose your room!

If I may ask, I request a medium sized room with leather (pretending it to be deerskin paper) to use as my buisance contracts, I am a buisance man after all!

....Or atleast I like to act like one. Maybe I should just be a clown instead.

Which floor?
It'll be behind your room.  You don't need a lab.

My gods, it's like we're swimming through land back there! All this in the space of a few hours, or does this take a few days to dig out in the story?

Reudh requests a room, any room, with a Mason's workshop built into the end of it, seperated by a door.

I'm not going to be putting furniture in.  You know what is there.  You get 9.

"I'll have a section of wall, or several, collapsed to isolate that cavern lake, tall enough to seal it up to the ceiling. It presents a serious flaw in the defenses in its current state, but having an indoor fishery would be nice, if we can keep it stocked and the fish alive. We can install a pump behind a drawbridge (the drawbridge on the exterior, near fortifications that let water in, with the bridge of course closed most of the time to keep nasty beasties out.) to refill the isolated lake if need be. In addition, if this is done it will make a wonderful, safe water cistern for our wells.

We also need more residences carved out; we're 45 or so short unless everyone wants to bunk with some of the dwarven civilians. I heard Urist and Athel are a nice couple; barely make any noise when they procreate. Sure one of you guys would love to meet them... Dig some damn rooms; I ain't sharing. Stuffing 25 kobolds in a tiny room is hardly right, anyway! They should have vast tracts of open space, and bins to stash their "stolen goods" in. Doesn't need any furniture, just let them steal what isn't claimed and arrange it as they see fit, which seems to be in neat rows from my recollection of the stockpilesKobold Palace of our previous home.

But make our rooms 5x5, as is the standard for lower class in any dwarven fortress with decent miners among the populace, of which we have 4-5, including me and that Zanzetkuken guy, and a selection of stoneworkers who escaped with us. Don't worry; think of it like a quarry designation with extra supporting walls! Just stack the boulders neatly outside.

Now, stoneworkers; GET MOVIN'!"

"I only wish to show you how finely they are treated," said the master.
They made their way across the chamber of feasting, drinking, and tripping elves. At the other side they came to a steep spiral stair, which they climbed. Scorpions scurried across the walls. HugoLuman turned to his friends. "This is a bit creepier than I thought it would be," he whispered.
At the top of the stairs, they came into another hallway. This one had a long carpet of sewn together pelts. Parts of it were painted with dye to form a crude runic pattern. Many doors lined the sides. "These are the bedrooms where my children sleep. There are more rooms on the floor below and two of the ones above. Of course, I will not bore you with those. Come, this way. The next stairs are through the kitchen."

"Come, this way. The next stairs are through the kitchen."

Eric Blank suddenly feels bad for his friends, whose intense cries of terror at the sight of whatever the hell they just saw can be heard from deep underground, a mile away.

Kobolds had began to move around the room, clinking pieces of the microline off with small rocks they keep in there loincloths, which were used to smash legs off the chairs. They fashioned several obsidian tipped microline spears.

"Okay, we cant cover this up, when they arrive, kill everything, and get. out. of. here. If someone is cornered, help them. But we need everyone to get out, I dont want anyone but Indilwen left behind, got it!"

The kobolds nodded and clutched there spears, they ducked under the table and behind the ruins of chairs, awaiting the elves and the master.
