The master now spoke in an echoey, multi-voice. "I must punish myself for this indecency!" It shrieked.

'Animated by magic. Typical. That one won't go down from cleaving. The parts will just cloy, and scratch, and reassemble themselves. Typical of an unwrapped mummy....' weird thought to himself.  The only thing he could do, was to silently "tickle" the severed, bony hand that still lay in the bowl on the serving tray.

Backing away, and peering around the curtain, he made the most subtle of gestures....

The amorphous mass of vermin fell to the ground, revealing a huge spider the the center.

The hand dissolves into five scorpions!

Corai lurches up, with a glazed over look in his eyes. Templar an the other dwarves notice a elf is holding a empty soup bowl and is standing near Corai. Coria just sits there, smiling.

Some of the vermin clustered together to form a hand. It grabbed the candle from one of the lamps and carried it towards the reforming body.

The elves all stand, staring horrified at the spectacle.

Stormtemplar charges again, swinging madly at the giant spider.

The body reformed, the master stood up. It placed the candle inside it's chest before placing the robe back over itself. It began sobbing and howling loudly, black, green, and yellow blood pouring from under the robe. "I MUST BE PUNISHED!!!" it shrieked.

The multi-voiced wail of agony from the master reached a high note, and stayed there. All the glass in the room wobbled and then shattered.

That was not the result he had hoped for. Maybe he had miscast the spell? Well.. at least it wasn't hello kitty this time.

Templar cleaved the serving elf in two.

Weird hoped that his friends didn't accidently cleave him in his disguise.

Presented with a fresher selection of corpse bits, he discretey gestured again......

Stormtemplar hefted a small endtable and threw it at the master, taking off his legs, but they quickly began to reform.

Eric, I am placing migrants in 4x1 rooms that extend off of a hallway at the southern end of the dining room.

I understand that this is acceptable to you as you're actually playing dwarf fortress, but for all meaningful story purposes a legendary +5 miner is expected to do legendary +5 work on a legendary +5 short notice. In other words, it's always best to bullshit it for roleplay purposes. :P

Here's for Oliolli:

Oliolli continued to trudge through hell. Click. Click. Clack. The crutch beat out the even tempo on the floor. He had gotten so adjusted to it that he didn't hear it anymore. Hours more passed, as he limped over mile after mile of Slade. Suddenly, he saw something to break the monotony of the eerie cavern. On the floor, just at the top of a small slade plateau, was a skeleton. It lay on a tattered bedroll, around a dilapidated campsite, covered in almost disintegrated rags. Clutched in it's hand was an adamantine long sword.

Oliolli looked around. Sure enough, he saw a curious looking structure, a tower rising from the floor of hell to the ceiling. And if that fellow had the sword, then something must be open. It might not be direct, but through there he would be able to get to the caverns, and eventually the surface...

You need not worry about Oliolli. I've got things planned out for him.

And besides, Oliolli spends a long time out of sight. There may be trace amounts of time travel involved with the deus ex machina.

Oliolli was now wandering around the caverns. Whoever had dug their way into the curious structure had sealed the way. All he could do now was look for another route. Using Ugonil as a crutch in one hand, ☼adamantine short sword☼ in the other, he had dropped his own leg years ago, as it had started to push miasma. Oliolli had liked hell more than the caverns. Nothing hostile could be found and it was not a maze like the cavern. Still, Oliolli kept walking. Years eventually turned into decades.

No.
Are we there yet?
I don't even know where we're going.
Then how do you know that we're not there yet?
Look around us! We are in the middle of nowhere!
Oliolli had stopped keeping track of time sometime during the first decade, so he did not know how long he had been walking. All he knew was that during all this time, he had not felt hungry or thirsty, and this was the first time he felt tired.
Gah. I hate this.
Oliolli slumped down against a nethercap. Though it was cold, he didn't flinch. He closed his eyes, seeing if he could get some sleep.
Rise and shine, Mr. Oliolli. Rise and shine.
Oliolli opened his eyes.
I do not wish to imply you have been idling on the job. Your little walk has been necessary.
In front of him was a tall man wearing a blue suit and carrying a briefcase. The man was walking toward him.
However, all the effort in hell would go to waste, unless... well, let's just say that you are now ready. The right being in the wrong place in the right time in the correct mental state can make all the difference in the world.
Oliolli suddenly felt his eyes drooping again. He believed he recognized the man. He was a manager of sorts for Oliollis.
So, sleep now, Mr. Oliolli. Sleep now and let me do the rest.
--
Oliolli woke up, sitting up against a tree on the surface, in a dark forest, largely covered by foliage. Looking up into the morning sky, he filled his lungs with fresh outside air for the first time in decades. There he sat, up against a tree for dozens of minutes, simply breathing and looking up at the sky. Finally deciding to survey his surroundings, he lowered his gaze. Nearby a large microcline tower could be seen, with a group of people heading for it. Oliolli recognized some of the people in the group. It seemed as if they hadn't aged at all. What was it that Manager had said? "in the right time" Oliolli got up, hoping no further temporal paradoxes would be caused by this. He soon spied wierd in his hazard suit, applying chloroform to a robed figure. If they were all here, the fortress was probably in the direction where they were coming from. Grabbing the ☼adamantine short sword☼ and using Ugonil as a crutch (again), he started making his was where he assumed the fort was.
