[Yes. Life threatening == treated. Non-fatal injuries: Untreated. You stabilize patients then move on. This conserves resources, and improves overal prognosis of the group. The time you spend splinting a finger is the time somebody else bleeds to death. Result: ignore the finger. Patients will have radiation rash in the morning, will have bright orange to brown urine from the high metabolite content (microscopic analysis will show shed cellwalls, indicitive of their diagnosis.), will have localized inflamation and pain. May experience hair and scale loss. Stable, but not out of the woods. Just not inside the witch's house anymore.]

[Alright, time to see if I can pull this off...]

The two figures crested the hill.  In the distance was a walled-off area, with a few small buildings and a tower.

"There," said the shorter of the two, a dwarf in heavy armor.  "I told you I'd find it.  Now unhand me!"  He struggled against the other's grip on his arm, but it was like fighting a vise; he couldn't break free.

"Patience, my friend," said the taller, a cloaked figure with a hidden face.  "Until I am sure, you will stay with me."  He started to walk towards the fortress, dragging the dwarf behind him.

Suddenly, a large vessel scythed through the dark clouds, landing badly within the walls ahead.  A huge flash blossomed, before rapidly shrinking to nothing.  "Ahh," sighed the voice behind the cloak.  "This is the place."

"I told you so!" the dwarf said, insistent.

"Yes, you did.  And now, as promised, I will release you."  The cloaked figure reached out its other hand, placing it on the dwarf's forehead.  A black aura gathered around it fingers, before spreading out over the dwarf.  Within seconds, nothing could be seen of him but a writhing mass of shadows.  The gloved hand withdrew, taking the shadows with it.  Where the dwarf had been standing was now only a pile of clothing and armor.

"You served me well, Wrathhammer.  Rest in peace."

[Someone's about to get torn a new one. BTW, people keep mentioning a tower of our own. If it was built in 2 weeks, it won't be very big.]

[Well yeah, but you'd still be able to see it over the walls, I assume.

Man, I picked the perfect time to unleash this.  X and wierd are both out for the time being.  Gizogin and the G-Bodies are busy treating those guys from the crash.  The dwarves are disoriented and nauseous.  Basically, defenses are as low as they can be.]

[So what exactly *is* the mysterious cloaked figure? It's clearly an evil magic user of some kind. Weird is not waking up for at least a few hours without being given an injected stimulant, and X's batteries are empty. that leaves hugo to suddely figure out how to breathe fire, or shout it to death. Try not to kill us all now, ok?]

[I'd really rather not reveal the mysterious stranger's identity until later.  Don't worry, it won't kill everyone.  I'm planning to keep the body-count low.  Also, not necessarily evil.  Just dark.]

[Maybe he wants to join us? That would be interesting. I'm thinking, though, he must be connected in some way to that evil sorcerer that Cog Wrathhammer fought. As for my shouting ability, I've been trying to think of a way to get rid of that. I never really wanted it, it eliminates the need for the more interesting solutions to challenges that I'd prefer to use.]

[As much as I hate to leave a plot thread hanging like this, I have to get some sleep tonight.  This sub-plot won't be vital for a while in-story, so it's not going to cause any major hang-ups unless things start moving really fast.]

[You should keep it for its slapstick values. Nothing quite like a slurred syllable causing havok. Like yelling "vostok", and blowing something up, whe responding to what the russian mars probe was or something. I haven't played that game much, so I don't know all the syllables. A list of them, on hand the next time you character shouts something could have glorious comedic value.]

[Having all the skyrim shouts, as Zanz said, does not easily subdued make me. Nor grammar does it overmuch improve.]

[Like being able to run a kiln for 8 hours straight on pure magic isn't OP? With the number of obscenely "exciting!" Occurances happening in our fort, blowing things up every time the syllable "vos" is uttered seems par the course.]

[Pacifism and getting maimed often are the only things keeping me from shouting all the enemies to powder. Being the size of a grizzly bear (and much stronger) as well as extremely keen senses and potentially breathing fire seems powerful enough already.]

[I agree with wierd, though. There's no real way to just dump the power, and if you forget the words of power and accidentally kill somebody, all the better for us! :P

Also, the "tower" is more like a massive raised platform right now. It's 55 tiles square by 7 z-levels (stories) tall currently. The intended height being 50 stories.  The outer perimeter walsl are ~30 tile away, so it wouldn't necessarily be visible over the walls except from a distance or an elevated position.

I am currently conscious, just not around. And I probably won't be writing for a day or so... Sorry.

If I am to have some activity to perform; once the storm is over and I can escape these elves before they figure out I'm a necromancer, I'd be back at the fortress going kung-fu on some rocks. That can all happen behind the scenes as time flies, or if someone needs to converse with me that's fine. But if you use me in conversation with this diplomat, know that I hate nobles, frivolous things and politics as much as Wierd (my totally awesome demi-mansion at the last fort being the exception; the space was useless cavern column and up for grabs, we don't have to pay rent, and nobody else ever asked for a better room besides Kodkod, so I dug it and furnished it on my own time.) That's why we divided our society into labor duties, not social hierarchies. Politics sucks, and politicians don't get work done, so we focus on the work.]
