Alright alright. If hugo says so.

Pissing eels is a cool effect, though.

Fuck, spoiler those quote pyramids before you cause someone to explode. *.*
Oh yeah, where the hell did those eels come from? We're not in an evil region. Let's just settle for a dramatic shower to outline the tragedy, and make things scarier by obstructing our vision.

Zanzetkuken is right in one respect. There are forces more powerful than the DF gods, but only one of them matters in the affairs of this world. If too much interference happens from other worlds, and it runs counter to the agenda of this force, there will be dire consequences.

[He said that they attack a new body, or forcibly construct one from the corpse. So. 'Yes.']

Wierd's mind blanked....

He was in a dark place... somehow familair.  The darkness whirled, and manifested itself in front of him, dark, sinister, and feminine.

"Hello handsome....." it cooed in an unnatural symphony of combined harmonized voices, as if millions spoke as one.

"What do you want, Nir." Weird spat. He was sorry he ever made the deal with her.

She giggled, and it was horrible. The very thing of nightmares.

"Somebody's been smashing my things..." she cooed. "*all* mortals of this world are *MINE* by right!" Her voice suddenly angry, and filled with dripping malice. "..a rival has sent forth a vile corruption to snatch may precious little jewels from me, and I AM ANGRY."

Weird looked at her crossly. He didn't give a flying fuck if she was a goddess, or yesterday's unflushed excrement. He didn't like her.

Her voice softened again, delicately, smooth, bubbly and just as unnatural as before.

"Due to certain accords, I cannot act directly...." she chittered, a smile on her face. "That is what you are for.... unlike that other servant of mine, your are all mine."

Weird scowled at her.

"What you really mean, is that you need me to accept this willingly, and need someone without ...other interests.. interferring in your dirty work." He growled.

She laughed, fell and terrible.

"You make it sound like you don't want this. You forget, little mortal, I know you, through and through, every time you open yourself to me. Every false life you give to a corpse, I am there. You accepted me into the core of your being, willingly, and of your own accord..."

"If that's true, then why are we here again?" He scoffed. Her smile turned dour, but only for a second.

Gotcha bitch.

"Do you want to make another deal with me, little mortal?" She cooed. "You have been one of my favorites from day one... so clever you are..."

"I have something you want, and you have something I want." He said crassly. "I'll openly let you use me to teach whatever 'rival' you have whatever lesson you feel appropriate, but it'll cost you."

The smile on fer face twisted in half contempt, half amusement. "Name your price, mortal."

"I want you to default on our contract." He said with a smile.

Her smile turned into a terrible, frightening grimmace in a deadly jaw. Her eyes blared red, and her ebony hair crackled into angry red flames. She was pissed.

"You demand a high price!" She hissed.

"I only get more expensive." He said cruelly. "And if I sound cold and unfeeling, just remember, YOU made me that way... either way, its your choice now.... better hurry before all living flesh of this world falls prey to your rivial's little plot."

The red flame hair burned white hot, and her mouth dripped acid.

"You have one this time mortal. But all living things come to me EVENTUALLY, and I have a very long memory."

"You'll be waiting a very long time." Smiled weird wickedly. "Now, you ready to have some fun?"

The smile on Nir's face was all dark emotions in one; an orgy of pain and suffering aching to be unleashed.

"Oh.... yesssssssss........." she seethed. "........yessss......."

--------

Wierd's screaming took on an unnatural tone, as he felt his mined get shoved into the passenger seat, and the whole void rushed into him. He wasn't just a necromancer anymore..... he had become death itself, and it was in charge.

Uh, wierd, if you are refering to the darker version of myself, he kinda conquered a god or three back in his section of the multiverse, so I would advise against that.  Of course, I am refering to the eldrazi, so I did the exact same thing.

[Eesh, another Deus Ex Machina. I'd hoped we could keep this disaster to a scale where one would not be necessary. And remember; not ALL the souls belong to her. Each culture has it's own pantheon in Dwarf Fortress. A look in legends mode confirms this. Just the souls of all the dwarves from the kingdom that sent them as migrants.]

[Note about Necromancy; Figures that get mummified are usually seen as deities in and of themselves by the people who bury them. As such, they use their own power to move their minions. This is why they are always bitter rivals with mortal Necromancers. It's a clash of faiths.]

No. He's referring to Nir, the Goddess of Death from the pantheon of the Mountainhome. He has allowed himself to become her avatar temporarily.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Tornado over the ocean? :v

I didn't say the eels had an effect on them, or that they were electric eels, just that there were eels, falling from the sky. And no, I think having some external metal coating would allow them to difuse electricity away from the body better than most living organisms. That just comes form having external metal components. I don't think they'd see any point to developing better shock resistance than that, as a discharge enough to cause further problems would be unrecoverable in the first place.

Evil you isn't on his home turf.

SHE *is*.

Hugo: this like an argument about aphrodite VS venus, VS Gaia, VS so many other personifications of the same archtype.

Mortals percieve and "incarnate" the same primal force differently through their cultural hangups, which colors the manifestation, but the force behind them is still the same. Death takes everything that dies.  Phyrexis, is an attempt at "perfect existence", and is in direct contravention of death. That's why she's pissed.

The room seemed to be spinning. Or maybe it was just a smack to the head, or something similar. Quick survey, how was everything functioning? Hands numb, legs numb, extreme headache. Headache seemed to be purely inernal, didn't feel like he had been hit in the head. Drugs, magic perhaps? Moving on. Limbs not only numb, but immobile. Eyes open, slowly. Chair, thick ropes. Would probably cause blisters. Room dark, all light came from under door's frame. Thank Armok for good sight in dark. Good sight in dark? Feature of oliollis, not humans. Perhaps mistaken, not human body, but dwarf? Dwarves see in the dark. Shake head. Apparently no beard. Not dwarf. Three eyes. Noticed only now. Definitely oliolli. But how? Steps behind door, someone coming.
"Seems like you're awake. That's good."
"Whuh- Who-?"
Speech hampered. Side-effect of drugs or magic?
"Quiet, please. All you need to know is this: it was extremely difficult to find you, even more so to catch you and nearly impossible to aquire that body for you. Even harder to get you into it. Please appreciate our effort."
"Buhhow-?"
"Boss knows how these thing work. How he knows, I don't care to know. Anyway, he'll be here soon. Try not to piss him off. I don't want that cleaning duty."
Other person left. Left in dark again. Half a minute, more steps. Heavier. Door opened.
"And here I thought there was only one oliolli running around the area. I even got reports saying that it was captured. Now it's gone, and the people who captured it are dead, clearly by Possession. Took two whole weeks to find and catch you. But I suppose we can help each other out. I'm guessing that we both want that other oliolli out of the picture, I get that feeling from you. The spell should wear off any minute now, do we have a deal?"
"I'll... have to think..."
"I understand, I'll be back soon-ish. You can guess the alternative to agreeing, can't you?"

However, bear in mind that while derived from similar ideas in the collective unconsciousness (the spheres are merely ideas that everyone notices), the deities are distinct beings, in and of themselves, who fight amongst each other in mythology, and with other pantheons in holy wars. In this world, they are a kind of spirit, the most powerful kind, and they formed from the stories of their native cultures at the dawn of time; like I've said earlier it was when the world was still soft, the inhabitants shaping it as much as it shaped them.

I think also that the gods of a DF world would see powerful beings from other worlds as something unknown and unexpected, and thus as powerful threats to be hated and feared. Like the ignorant people who live in this world, the gods themselves are ignorant of other universes. Thus, it would be perfectly natural for her to react so adversely to this.

SHE *is*.

True, but if he calls upon the mindset of the Eldrazi, he is far beyond her because the Eldrazi basically eat planes and their gods for 'nourishment.'  So all he has to do is release them from their physical forms, but still maintain control, which he can do.

I'll have it be over tomorrow.

Compared to the battles that normally happen, that is quick.

And Hugo, wouldn't you notice something if Wierd became Death?

I don't think anybody would have a clue, and he's still there for Hugo to latch onto. He acts like this all the time, nothign to worry about! :P

I agree with this. It's ridiculous, frankly.
