So, no response to my inquiry?  Truthfully, the forces are basically the same, except for two divisions.  They are the reason the war has gone so smoothly.

Wierd looked completely drained.  Whatever he had done, it had taken quite a toll on him.  Gizo X noticed, and gestured to a nearby bed.  "You should sit down," he said.  "You look exhausted."

Wierd took a seat gratefully.  "Thanks.  That was harder than I thought it'd be."  He looked down at his hands, which were shaking quite badly.  "I don't suppose I could get a drink?"

"Sure," replied Gizo X.  He called for the Mk. VI to fetch wierd a drink.  He was still trying to process what had just happened.  Obviously, magic was involved, but it was magic he had no idea existed.  His mind was racing with possibilities.  It must have shown on his face, because wierd spoke up.

"Don't."

"What?"

"I can practically hear your mind whirring away.  Trust me, you don't want to push this magic.  I don't mean to sound condescending, but a non-magic-user like yourself can't hope to understand just how badly it can go wrong."

"Well, this is interesting.  Now I have to ask if you can keep a secret."

"I'm already filled with them.." weird groaned. "In for a penny, in for a pound... but what could possibly be so important to an android?"

Gizo X looked around to make sure no one was watching.  Hugo was unconscious, and the dwarves had left once they realized they could be drinking instead of watching a medical procedure.  The G-Bodies were scurrying around working on their various tasks, but he didn't really mind them.  "Okay," he said.  "Here goes."  He stretched out his hand, palm up.  Closing his eyes, he tapped into the Core's magical reserves, and shaped them into a spell.  He released the energy, and opened his eyes.  The air above his hand began to swirl, and a stream of water condensed out of it.  The water shaped itself into a tiny sphere, which suddenly froze solid with an audible crack.  Gizo X held the icy ball up, admiring it.  "Well, look at that.  It worked."

"What?" asked wierd.  "You can...  But how?  That shouldn't be possible!"

"Well, seems I'm not the only one with questions.  Tell you what, since Hugo's at least stable, let's go into my workshop.  We won't be disturbed there."

[Ow, crap.  As soon as I finished typing, my leg cramped up.  Really painful.]

Oliolli still hadn't gotten any sleep. On the outside it may have seemed as though he were sleeping, but he wasn't. Keeping his eyes shut, he listened closely to what was going on in the hospital. Hugo had come in badly wounded, some operations were made... and that was the least interesting part.

He had to admit it.. X had piqued his curiosity in a way that hadn't been tickled in months.

He downed the rest of the hopsital booze G-7 had supplied him with, then wearily stood up, and leaned against the bed.

"Are you alright?" Asked X politely.

"I'm fine. I'm just a bit wore out... let's let hugo rest. His body consumed a lot of reserve energy just now. He may wake up with a bit of a headache. Make sure he gets plenty to drink, even if he doesn't want it. Increased activity means increased metabolites."

X nodded, then motioned for weird to follow through the "staff only" door.

He released the bed, and carefully guided his steps to follow.

[Not good?  Nah, I seriously doubt it could possibly have even the slightest of negative consequences.

In all seriousness, though, why is it not good?  Oliolli isn't evil or anything, last I remember.

(Ow!  What the crap?  Now half my jaw just cramped up!  This is ridiculous.)]

I'll quote wierd (in your own post) to answer that:

If anyone were to find out, it'd be chaos.

He may not do anything, but if he tells eric...

Let him.

Weird may well leave thari's book in X's custody. A mechanical mind is harder to corrupt than an organic one, and if eric tries to compell him to give up the goods, he won't have them anymore.

Oliolli trusts Eric only a little more than wierd does. Also, he relies on physical strength and personal capabilities, and as such is not interested in learning or using magic.

Its also important to stress that ollioli was fighting cave creepy crawlies while weird was nuking thari. He was not present to see the fusion horrors up close, and in full enthrallment. As such, he might not comprehend why weird is so paranoid about using healing magic in front of other people.  Might think he's just being a dick.

[sorry, went to a friend's house to stay over and we've just gotten access to the computer]

Well, that had been awful. Rushing towards the ground, failing to do anything about it, splintering bones in excruciating ways. He had almost forgotten why he tried. He'd seen it, though. The tower. For a fleeting second, before he lost control. It was there, somewhere, in the hills.

Now, though, there was too much to worry about. The implications of the tower and the carving, Weird revealing the secret. No... it was time to sleep now. HugoLuman blacked out.
