Ok... character sheet [Mr Peepers: adult]

Male
Mutant chicken monster
Maximum size 1000lbs
Has wings, but is flightless
Heavy musculature
Thick, scaly skin with intermittent patches of red, white, and black feathers.
Has a cockrel's tail plumage, and a deep red, almost black rooster comb.
Carnivorous.
Sharp T-rex like teeth in a hard bony beak. Mouth is big enough to eat a whole dog.
Attracted to shiny objects.
"Crows" (don't ask.)
Has lethal 18 inch long leg spurs, and talons on feet.
Aggressive.
Likes to chase
Likes to eat
Likes to fight
Domesticated
Vaugely resembles a cockatrice, but no serpent tail, and no petrifaction power. Just a giant, evil, mutant chicken.
Pet exotic
Trainable
Prefstring: "Blood chilling crowing"

[Mr Peepers: adolescent]
Male
Mutant chicken monster
Size: between 20 and 100lbs
Patchy scales, sparse yellow chick fuzz, stubby molt plumage
Has stubby wings, flightless
Robust musculature, leathery skin
Carnivorous. Hunts vermin smaller than itself.
Sharp socketed teeth in a bony beak
Domesticated
Likes to be petted
Voracious eater
Pet exotic
Trainable
Prefstring "earsplitting shrieks"

[Mr Peepers: infant]
Male
Mutant chicken monster
Infantile build, fragile bone structure.
Chick fat, soft, fuzzy skin with patchy scales
Follows 'mommy'
Size 1 to 19lbs
Begs food.
Peeps
Loves attentions.
Scared by larger animals
Sharp, scary teeth.
Probing, highly observant eyes.
Attracted to shiny objects.
Domesticated
Pet exotic
Trainable
Prefstring "adorable peeping"

Its not so much that he will "sic" Mr Peepers on you... so much as it is that you just look like food to him.  While not exactly bulletproof, the larger adolescent to adult forms of Mr Peepers would take sustained arms fire to drop, and he likes to fight. Shooting is ill advised.

[Alright... We can live with "Some sort of hideous cross between a Utah Raptor and a cockatrice." :P]

Eric glared angrily at the wall on the opposite side of the hallway, out the door. "Fine," he said, "Roead can come along if it will get me out of this kitchen any faster. Do try to keep the demands to yourself and not kill us, will you? And don't think too loudly, either. I heard something about telepathy and mind-reading... Avoid surface-level thoughts, I suppose. Or replace them with something horrible and disgusting to freak them out. That sounds like fun, actually. But still not appropriate. No, just stick to benign, non-premeditated spoken words, pull them out of the air as you go, and don't think about Zanzetkuken being in the kitchen. That would be the - do you hear a little animal or something crying? Fuck it, I don't want to know, just come on."

"I'll try my hardest to make my mind as miserable a place as it can be."

Together they wandered out of the room, towards the surface entrance. The only thing keeping the commander at bay right now was a tiny zombie bird.

[So bloody tired. Need sleep.]

[Jeez. Sounds like Mr Peppers will be about my size and even more intimidating on the outside. On the inside, 1000x as intimidating. Hope he doesn't see me as a threat. I'm scared  :o]

[Mr peepers was designed to eat dragons. :D

Don't worry too much.  When he grows up, I plan on having him staked out on the lawn on a really long chain.

Goblins? Mr Peepers thinks they are chewy. :D]
__________________________

Mr peepers just wouldn't be quiet.  Poor thing was cold and miserable, as weird snuck down empty corridors back toward the workshops.  He thought he remembered seeing a freaky wooden nestbox somewhere in the carpenter's jumble of finished crap that hadn't been hauled off to the stockpiles yet. Mr Peepers needed a nice warm spot, and soon.

Sure enough, there it was. A rough wood nestbox, compliments of one of the migrants that had showed up without any skills, and mooded for a dismally and spectacularly poor artifact. It didn't matter. Oaf got turned into a cyberdwarf and his reign of stupid came to an abrupt end.

He paused.  That uncharacteristically harsh. He should feel bad about thinking that.

He tried, but he couldn't.  That worried him. He would have to start carrying a book of scary thoughts so he could properly punish them in private later. These unbidden impulses for evil were really unwanted, and after how eric had acted like an ass recently, he wasn't about to ASK to be mind controlled. He'd end up mucking out the privvies for sure that way.

Stuffing the box with some straw, and putting mr peepers inside, he picked the whole thing up and headed back toward the kitchens.... how he would sneak peepers in without anybody seeing he wasn't sure, but there was plenty of "meat" to feed him there, and it was warm....

[I'm still talking to Zanzetkuken in the kitchens, but the others left (I think). Also, I really did make a mess in there. There will be a pool of vomit in the hall and the table is turned over.]

[Weird doesn't know that, and his excuse for leaving was "bathroom". He has to come back, even with mr peepers in tow.  Zanz might bug, and I suspect your char would be pissed about using thari's magic after entrusting weird with it... but mr peepers is just so horrible that he's actually cute from it.]

"Listen Hugo, I intend to give myself up to end this siege, but I can't.  If I go far enough away, it will kill you since you are linked to my mind.  So unless there is someone who you could link minds with instead, I am unable to leave."

"Thank you for answering. Now, if you want to give yourself up, go ahead. I've got a plan now." HugoLuman moved to get out of the room, intending to sneak out of the fortress, when he saw Wierd. "Oh, sorry about the GOOD GAHNDI WHAT IS THAT!?"

Walking into the hallway behind him, Zanzetkuken took one look at the deformed chicken and said, "Now I've seen it all."

Oh, about the airship I wish to build, it is not ordinary, considering that it can travel the planes like a planeswalker.  I fully intend to give you the blueprints to it after it is built.  Will be refined so it doesn't require a plane to be lost to power it.

Weird put a hand over the top of the box, and leaned into the room.

Roead and Eric were gone.  Thank God.

He uncovered the top of the box, and pushed into the room. Peepers was peeping horribly from being cold, and getting him into the hot kitchen was .......nasty.

He had stepped in vitriol soaked noodles, and mooshed up cake in a splash puddle on the ground, an overturned tabled nearby.

He looked at zanz and hugo accusingly, but only hugo reacted.

He set Mr peeper's box on the counter.

"That's Mr Peepers! Isn't he cute? Now what was that about souls? Hs Eric been fucking with the proper path of death again? Do I have to go beat the shit out of that arrogant fuckwit now?"

"No, I separated Hugo's mind from clockwork's in order to prevent clockwork from gaining the ability to planeswalk.  However, in order to do that, I needed to link Hugo's mind to mine.  I wish to end the siege by giving myself up, but I can't, because if I go too far away from him, Hugo will die."

"So, hugo's half dead then?" He asked bewilderedly.  Peepers had nestled down into the warm straw, and was peeping almost inaudibly now.  He was adorably monsterous.

"I ..... I... don't know what to say about that. Such a thing was never... its never happened here before. There's no precident..."

He looked at hugo. "So... your soul's partially missing too?"

"I was a time paradox. One me, stretched across two timelines. You'd think it would just be separate versions of me, but in this case there was just one mass (from a N-dimensional point of view anyway) that got pulled thin between two points. Basically I was in 2 places at once. With a lot of effort and concentration, Zanz cut me in half. But the paradox tried to resolve itself and there wasn't enough... well for a lack of a better word "substance" in me to avoid being sucked down the drain anymore. So I had to latch onto someone."

"Well... that's a little outside my department...." weird muttered. Extradimensional rendition of lost spiritual and physical substances was...outside the authority of his contract...but the wording of the contract mandated his taking action, since a spirit was now half dead... in a manner of speaking...

"And its different from my problem..." he muttered. "Part of me is sitting on an impound shelf as collateral. Part of eric's too, actually... and thari's.... and any other necromancers that might be out there.... Lucs....."

"What do you mean?" Asked hugo, concerned. Weird always liked that about hugo. Always so concerned about the wellbeing of other people and less about his own.

"....when a necromancer gains his powers..." he started. "A part of their...being... gets ripped off as collateral, and a magical connection to the void between this world and the next gets... stuck on..... it gives you innate powers over the dead, and over the void outside... but it has a price."

Hugo tilted his head. Zanz leaned against a wall, and looked at his fingernails. "What?" Hugo asked.

"Its a different part for everyone." He continued, trying to explain exactly what was 'wrong' with him. "The necromancer has no way of knowing what it is that gets taken when it happens. It just does. The knowledge and power...kinda..pushes part of you off, and sticks there, but its not a perfect, or even a good fit. The part that gets held in hock.... it isn't really replaced at all. Part of you is really, totally, just...not there anymore."

"So, you don't have all your marbles then." Sniffed zanz. "That explains a lot."

Weird glared indigently.

"Its not like that!" He bellowed. "I'm as smart, and creative as ever! Its just......." he trailed off... why was saying this so damned hard!?

"I've been having.... problems.... lately."
