Eric-Poor temper and smug.

Change it to "Fuse to make an 11th grade English teacher look like a calm, complacent human being with no concept of being respectful to anyone that pissed him off, and also a smug bastard that everybody hates" and it could be very accurate :P

[Weird, Thari's transformative magics are accomplished through long and painful operations involving extracts from her demented plants and healing magic to keep the patient alive. I am sure that with her knowledge you could create a monster, but it would still need time for it to grow..]

Corai, what about

Saurinae - Has perverse interspecies lust for a kobold maiden. JK

Further musings on monstrous things: http://io9.com/5915759/scientists-make-frankensquitos-to-test-vampire-jumping-spiders

That's right; scientists chopped up mosquitos and put them back together in different combinations to figure out exactly what makes a "vampire jumping spider," that feeds on blood-gorged female mosquitos, tick. God I love science.

Don't forget the tobacco plant with the bioluminescence gene from a jellyfish! Or the rabbit with the same!

Science playing god. Exactly what I think it is meant for.

If we can play god, why would we not?

We do what we can - because - we can.

Technically, magic that heals wounds causes accellerated tissue turnover. That's what healing is. As such, a simple healing spell turned up to 11 could cause horrible things like psorasis, or worse to happen. At the weakest, an overcharged healing spell would cause benign neoplasms. At the worst, it would cause flaming out of control cancers.

That's what weird is doing right now. Its an overcharged healing spell, forcing the embryo inside the egg to grow in unnatural ways, allowing precancerous mutations to form from the abnormal growthrate, and culling diseased cells all at the same time.

The result is a vicious little baby abomination.

[Still, it would need Thari's green goop. The healing potion gel stuff. Luckily there was a barrel of it in the storeroom, wasn't there? Why wouldn't someone have grabbed one from the tower, knowing what it does? I presume you're feeding it, it needs to get mass somehow.]

[Oh yes, he intends to feed it... and to continue to force it to grow after hatching. Gotta get rid of all that disgusting lard and "turtle roast" somehow. Lots of energy stored in fat. :D]

Uh oh. He'd forgotten about the mushrooms. This carnivorous digestive system clearly did not agree with them. Trying to avoid making a scene, HugoLuman dashed to the door and knocked over the table. He vomited in the hallway, and unhappy about that and having made a scene he walked back in to the surprised others. "Look, Eric, Roead, both of you just go. We clearly do not have time. Zanzetkuken, do you plan on giving yourself up? I need to know right now!"

He backed off the flow...  the shell of the egg cracked, and a squeeking, wheezing, peeping came from inside the cracked exterior.

He carefully set the tiny egg on the ground where it pulsed and writhed. Tiny bits of shell popping off, exposing a large, orange eye, and sharp needle like teeth.

The cute peeping it was making sharply contrasted to the fear inducing features.

He wondered if this was really such a good idea... but deperate times called for deperate measures. He needed an ace up his sleeve in this place, and "peepers" here was just what he needed....

He hoped.

The scrawny, leggy, and scaled shape pooped itself out of its shell, breathing hard and peeping louder as it kicked and struggled.

Then he realized that peepers needed to be kept warm. Baby chicks were easily harmed by chill in the environment, and the floor was cold stone. Thankful for the plated protection his gloves offered, no matter how retarded they looked caked in flour and bread dough, he scooped baby peepers off the floor, and cuddled it near his breast plate.  He needed to find someplace warm for the little guy to dry out.

[Just wait until baby peepers is big enough to feed himself.... being small and edible to a voracious carnivore pullet, your character is in for a living nightmare.]
