Corai: you could always "play dead".  There are a bunch of zombies shuffling around outside putting out fires.  Kobolds all look alike to dwarves.

[Hmm, Clockwork Hugo.  I had this idea that somehow I could be the one responsible for building him, and then I would somehow send him back in time.  That seems very unlikely, though.]

The Mk. X returned to the hospital, to find a line of dwarves stretching down the hallway.
X (pushing past the dwarves and into the hospital proper): Whoa, what's going on here?
Gizogin, currently bent over one dwarf on a hospital bed, straightens up upon hearing X's voice
G: Ah, X, you're just in time!  All these dwarves suddenly rushed in complaining of headaches and kidney pain!
X: What?  What kind of symptoms are those?
G: I don't know!  All I can get from them was that they uncovered some... thing while they were digging out a new dining room.  There are twenty-three of them in all, and they all have exactly the same symptoms.  Apart from the aforementioned headaches and kidney pain, they have severe muscle spasms and discoloration of the extremities.
X: Ooh, yeah, looks like their hands were crushed in a door or something.  It looks just like late-stage bruising.  When did this happen?
G: The first ones came in just under an hour ago.  Between the Mks. VII-XI and myself, I think I have these dwarves covered.  I want you to check out that dining room and figure out what happened.
X: Got it.
G: Take the Mk. VI.  And be careful.

[Had an idea for a side-story I wanted to do.  This is my little introduction to it.  If anyone else wants to join, the Mk. X is heading over to this new dining hall I mentioned, and you might be able to run into him on the way.  That, or you could have heard from one of the dwarves or something.  However you want to explain it.  I'm signing off for tonight, though.]

Corai, bug away. We could use some more input. The fire is nearly out already, btw.

Hugo, wearing the unsettling hint of a smile on his face, stepped toward the door. "If you'll excuse me, we... er... I have some... ah... pressing matters to attend to." Let's see if there's something to salvage in that lab...

Hugo was really acting strange.  Twitching an eyebrow, he felt in the back of his mind for the smallest, least obtrusive, and most skeletal zombie he had under his power. An adorable skeletal kitten, just 2 days old when it was butchered. It wasn't much bigger than a golfball. It would be perfect.

Taking a breath, (but not too deep. Curse those damned ribs!) He filled the mewling abomination with purpose, and relaxed as it set to work, homing in on hugo to spy on him. As long as the little freakish thing was active, he could close his eyes, and have the unnatural senses of the corpsified kitten relay surveylance to him.  Being anecromancer rocked in some ways, but he really hated spying on people. Hugo was acting beyond just odd though.

Roead had partially unwrapped his left arm, and was reading some smeared blue inscriptions on his forearm, like a student cheating on a test, and trying to paint it on a still ambulatory Mk IV gizogin clockwork droid, spouting profanities when it would move away from him, mindlessly fixated on its repetative janitorial programming.

He really hoped this worked.

-Okay, I just dont like joining in when theres big giant walls of text, I can read them, but I dont wanna mess everything up with a kobold, cause I feel like I did that before. :3-

Corai continued skirting the area, taking careful notes. He was getting angry as well, kobolds were just wandering around in the fires like idiots. "Not even MINE are that stupid, disgraces to the species." he said, walking. "Wait, there arent...where did....aaaaaah!" he spat out. "There Joykill's zombies from Bay Bold! I can be a zombie, I think." He said, walking towards the fort.

"I wonder whats going on?" he said, doing the zombie.

 :-\

Oliolli is way too far from the fort to reach it at any point in the foreseeable future if you guys keep making posts where time doesn't really advance very much. I counted that it should take him around 10 hours to get back to the fort, if he hurried, which is kinda impossible with a broken right leg and no right arm to use a crutch with.

A wrench (kobold) thrown in the works keeps the story interesting, as does everyone else.

The lab was burned out. At first, it seemed that this was a fruitless exercise, but a quick search revealed that whoever had ransacked the room had left behind many components and even some finished augmentations. Even better, behind a false wall panel a reserve agent waited. Hugoli stared at the dwarf in the trenchcoat.

"Uh oh. Proximity breach! Commander will hear of th-"

Before the augmented dwarf could react, his neck was broken. After dissecting him, there would be much to work with here. He could begin quite soon. Yes, a batch of 5 would be enough to start with...

It had been a few hours, and the kitten could not find it's target. I don't know where he is, but wherever it is, he's sneaked off with great care, thought weird. Suddenly, the kitten heard a heavy pounding coming up the hall. Must be Vemini's footsteps. When the owner of the feet came around the corner, however, it didn't look like Vemini. Before he could see it clearly it had trampled the kitten. Damn, what the hell now?

Roead heard what sounded like... marching, In heavy armor. Vemini 3 humanoid figures appeared at the doorway of the hospital. They were all identical, and covered in well-measured steel plating. Not Vemini then. There was only one of him and his armor was irregular, corroded, and dark-grey iron.

One of them spoke in a modulated, monotone voice. "All dwarves must come this way for mandatory medical procedures. You will all be drafted."

Weird heard something approaching his lab with heavy, metallic footsteps. The door burst inward. "You will come with me."

Vemini, SPHM, and Captain Ironblood were headed back to the fort when a marching armored figure approached them. "You will remain outside for the time being. No interference."

Ironblood crossed his arms. "Yeah? Says who?"

An adamantine-tipped dagger flew from the air suddenly, impacting in the arm of the 6-foot steel humanoid.

Zanzetkuken sat on the back of HugoLuman as he lolloped across the landscape. The less gigantic dragons could achieve a decent turn of speed on the ground, though HugoLuman was a little uncomfortable with acting like a beast of burden. Still, he found he could easily carry the weight of both the steel armor and his passenger.

Seeing someone limping ahead of them, HugoLuman slowed down. "Hey, isn't that Oliolli?"

-OOOH, a dagger, must be me.-

"Hey, what the hell you doing?" Corai said, sneaking out of the shadows.

"Did I just throw my dagger? WHAT WAS I SMOKING?" he suddenly asked, panicking.

-Only weapon, this will be !FUN!-

Eric cursed his luck. The entire mining team was in the hospital for no obvious reason after filling out a request to upgrade to a new dining room, and now some of what seemed like Happyface's toys were abducting his construction crews. By the nerve of that half-bearded runt...

He marched up to one of the armored troops. "Stop right there, all of you. What the hell do you think you're doing taking my dwarves? They need to be working right now." he demanded, casting the spell to get them to cease abducting dwarves for now and answer the question honestly.

"All life forms designated dwarves are to be drafted immediately, with some exceptions. You will come with us for compulsory upgrading."

Eric was surprised. This wasn't right. There was obviously something very physical directly controlling the minds of these creatures, lessening the degree of his own control. Did Happyface have brain implants developed yet?

Knocking the legs out from under the droid, then sitting on its back, its arms and legs still actuating as if it were walking and cleaning, before uttering in an incessant monotone "error. Erro. Error. Error.", Roead manhandled the droid, and completed the horribly sloppy looking inscription across the droid's posterior.  Slapping its bottom over the inscription, the paint glared blue, and then returned to normal, as the droid went completely inert.

"I don't know why I'm helping this wanker!" Roead blustered angrily.  The process of inscribing and consecrating an ambulatory target had seriously torqued him off, as had the insistence of the droid at disobeying his orders to stand still with a flat "unauthorized voiceprint; directive ignored."

He set about re-wrapping his arm, yellowed toilet paper going back into plce only after extreme levels of aggressive "encouragement".

"Stupid broke ass kingdom!" He spat.

Weird knocked on the table , and shouted in next to the giant protruding cork.

"Hey! Asshole Athel! Stop stinking up the furniture! We got you a body for your stupid ass to blow up like your last one!...."

He leaned in closer, and whispered.  "Or do you ....enjoy... listening to domestic disputes... forever.... nonstop... for all eternity?  ..you can make it stop you know..... you know what to do......"

He straightened up, and resumed shouting.  "But I bet you LIKE it in there dontcha! I bet its really cozy, and luxurious, being an impotent ghost bent over inside a table with a great big cork shoved in its glory hole! REAL manly!"

"SHUT THE HELL UP!" Shrieked the table.

"Nope. Not until you leave that table!" Weird said smugly, caressing the surface sensually.

"Yeah, you like that dontcha?...."

"Get your bloody hands off me! You dirty freak!" Raged the table.

"I bet I could iron my underwear on here..." weird said, ignoring the profanities uttered by the table. "I don't care how mad eric is with me, I think I could keep you in my room all to myself!" He continued, still stroking the table. "And since you refuse to leave that table, there's not a dman thing you can do about it either........" he cooed.

"Stop being perverted with the damn table!" Roead yelled. "If he doesn't want to come out, he doesn't want to come out!"

Weird waved roead off, still being as disgusting as he could possibly be to convince the spirit to leave the table.

"How about it, little table..... just you... me... some candles.... alone...... we could have beautiful science together......."

"That does it you sick bastard!'" The table roared.  "I'd rather DIE than put up with this shit! I'm outta here!"

The table's glowing releif suddenly went dark, as the spirit vacated the table.

Roead and the patients in the hospital were looking at him with a myriad of expressions ranging frm "what the fuck!?" To outright disgust.

Weird straightened and then tried to look suave.

"Got him out of the table, didn't it?" He said bemusedly, as the clockwork droid on the floor shuddered, came to life, and uttered an endless stream of vile profanities and threats.

The looks on everyone's faces spoke volumes. They weren't convinced.

He ignored them. It didn't matter what other people thought. He only wanted to get that dumbshit out of that hellhole of a table. His perverted actions were only an act to accomplish that goal, and it had worked perfectly.

Sadly, the kitten he had dispatched to find hugo and watch him had been unable to accomplish its goal.  The sounds of havy boots from down the hall were approaching. Then the kitten suddenly cut off... it had been stomped on!

Straightening up in alarm, the now fully posessed clockworkd droid with a very torqued off Athel McMiner inside it jumped up off the floor, and bumrushed at him threatening bodily harm, as a cybernetic monstrosity smashed in the door.
