The elves are listed as 'neighboors' almost all over the map
Dwarves
Elves
Humans
Drows
Goblins ---
Anubites ---
and Frost Giant ---

are listed as neighbors  almost all over the map, except to the extreme east where it is just the dwarves listed. The desert of conflicts has several towers throughout, which is probably how it got it's name.

The drow are listed simply as drow. It doesn't say evil and they do not have the little red line next to them like the Frost Giants, Goblins, and Anubites.

I found the perfect spot, in the socketed Jungle there is an unclaimed volcano, in the middle of 4 massively large civilizations surrounding us on 4 sides, and there is a large brook to the north. Most of the map is warm, although there are some hot spots, instead of the scorching heat found in most of the world. This embark is 5x3, and I am sending a team of military men and a doctor, with some animals and basic supplies.

The dwarves have been assembled into the group "Doomed Stupidity of Testing" and have been assigned to start a fort designated:☼Uthgururdim Telnashon Okil☼ Demonictower the Most Bloodiness of Testing.

This volcano is awesome! you guys are going to love this map. There is a giant open pool of lava at the top of a large tube sticking out of the side of the sharp peak.

Sounds awesome. Have you embarked yet? Is there a suitable dwarf for me?

Oh, and we should bring some hens and a rooster. Those are awesome food source, either for meat or for eggs.

Since Panopticon started us off last time, I am giving the first turn to whoever replies to this post first.

The game thread can be found here with the save file.

I am reserving the first post to be an RP of the king sending 7 children of the previous forts overseers to their doom for getting his son killed., assuming meph shifts the blame of the muder.

Don't forget to dorf(name) the first 7 dwarves!

I have family visiting, so I'm off for now.

Yay, that means me. I'll start it tomorrow, and I hope to have an early update too, but no promises on that.

zenerbufen did you use the GUI included with the archive to generate the new fort?
I just discovered that my fix for the bug that was reported was not complete and the raws are not totally updated when you click the "write" button.
It looks like this may have been causing raw duplication for some people.

Dwarf please too, anything is fine!  I like the premise of the king exiling us into an Alpha version of the world for Zen's death :)

Zen: Dude. Not cool. You embarked without a single fucking thing to eat. The embark site is great and all, but come on!

Oh god, vanilla stones! vanilla stones everywhere! Microcline, spalerite, alunite...

Edit: OK, I got spring sorted out somewhat. This alpha is hilariously broken yet, it's everything Meph said it would be. The nice masterwork stone system is mostly nonexistend, practically everything leaves a boulder, there are huge veins of supposedly very rare minerals everywhere. However, the neatly grouped workshops are very-very cool. I'm curious to see some combat, although I guess it won't come to that during my term. At least I hope so, these guys are made of paper mache and baby dreams.
