No point switching *right* away, give the new version a while to shake out the most obvious bugs like "hey Meph you missed a bracket and now the crucible makes burritos".

But what if the Platinum Burrito Bar is really cool? We should be the first to find out!

That name needs to be on a food cart, immediately.

I thought the entire point of the bloody dungeons of testing was..... testing. We should totally do an alpha tower!

bonus points for evil biome, so that testing is done by the time a new version or update comes out ;)

Well since we are doing a new embark, there is nothing stopping us from starting the planning and such right now eh? Who wants the first turn? What should we call this doomed fort? We have done/i have seen garden of gaia / blessed serra forts.. should the next one be on Scorching Shiv (burning volcanoes, magma and necro), or Cursed Urborg (horrible swamps, evil and undead)

I vote for Scorching Shiv - volcanoes and magma are very dwarfy, and undead are hilariously broken, so nice opportunities for testing. Also, species tended to die off during worldgen in these harsh worlds, so it will be interesting to see how they hold up in the new version.

As always, if we have an agile male in the embark group, make him a sworddwarf and name him after me.
If somebody was to gen the world, choose the place and embark (I still tend to fuck that up sometimes), I'd take the first turn. Or second, but really, something early would be preferable.

I'd be happy to start us off again when the next version hits, would we also want to find an underground fort again?

I think we will be done with cavern testing when we 'complete' (read: destroy) the current fort. I say we try to specialize on invaders, since they will be mostly rewritten. Try various defense mechanisms, see how they work. Also trade a lot, see what's overpowered and what isn't worth the trouble.

Also, we are talking about a game that1s not even out, and also may be delayed quite a bit.

because of the FPS issues I think it might be better to skip the underground structure. I bunch had to skip thier turns because of that.

Fair point, the structures are rare anyway and as previously mentioned it is probably better to test the things every one will be running into.

Sure, I'm up for a turn in the new one too, whenever it comes up.
