lol :)  fine with me.  congrats on new computer...  you're still OK to take your turn right?  i'd rather not go quite yet, i'm occupied trying to get "masterwOrc Fortress" to work :)  modding a new civ_controllable is harder than you guys make it look!

Somebody will have to take my turn. For some reason, my FPS is hilariously low on this save. If I were to play it, I would probably go over the time limit. That is, if my head didn't explode first. A word of advice: For whoever comes next, start from Spring. As soon as I loaded the summer save, I got an ambush message inside the tower. The gobbos are riding giant ants, and some of those can fly.

For your own safety
Yours and that of the Urists
Start the fort from Spring

Also, any thoughts on the FPS problem?

Looks like I got my wish and was the first to try to become a mage.
And survived.
And burned down the mountain hall (?)
And hopefully not started to randomly melt away, as in a bugreport I got a long time ago.

@Firehawk:
Mothram, our most (..only?) skilled Marksdwarf, has taken the nickname 'Firehawk', and is promoted to captain of our small ranger squad.

Probably no story update tonight, only had a few minutes to play, but the military are getting their gear sorted out OK after all.  They do really like runecloaks but it doesn't permanently screw anything up.
