It was a gripping battle indeed.
So we have Iron, we have flux, why is making steel not an option?

If steel isn't an option, then I vote more armor for the fighters, then whatever. Use the Mithril and Iridium for weapons.

re: steel:  just that we've been fuel constrained.  But I think you're right, it's time to get it going.

Keep the gates open, give armor to the troops, and only work on the hall of mountain king if you have spare fuel/time. I know you wanted to build it, but it's not exactly urgent.

Only expand the military if you have capable dwarfs who are still not drafted. Raw recruits don't exactly do well in masterwork, i.e. die horribly in the first battle. Bituminous coal veins are depleted or something? How about anthracite?

Something occurs to me that I should have mentioned when I picked the site.

I think we started off at war with the Orcs, which explains their early arrival.

It's not my fault!  I blame whoever named the game *Bloody Dungeons of Testing*, as opposed to *Safe Cubicle of Logic and Reasonable Decision Making* :)

@Ishar, Yeah, I've depleted (both mined and used) all the coal that I know of, but I didn't do a lot of exploratory tunnels.

Very nice job all around. Good layout, decent improvements, and very neatly documented.

Somebody turned my intended shooting range into a storeroom of some sort, at the military level... oh well, you built another one, so no harm done I suppose.

Smake, I loved your writeups and thanks for the pictures.

Anyone who wants a turn (or another turn) please let me know.

I've sent pm's to the next couple overseers on the list.

I would go again if the Overseers' list starts cycling back around.  But feel free to put new people ahead of me.

@jakmak already had you signed up for another turn.

@smakemupagus added

@both  So far I've been rotating through the list adding outgoing overseers back in at the bottom of the list, unless they told asked otherwise. With the number of skips it shouldn't take long to get another turn.

@Panopticon it's your turn

@everyone else. Would anyone else like a turn?

a couple small OOC notes

your squad will still needs gauntlets (even after the manager's orders go through),

The outer gate is shut and there is a woodcutter stuck outside, but it should be safe to open.  I was just testing the new bridge levers on z090 and forgot to open it back up
