are artifacts still in absent sites?

are artifacts still in the area were the sites that have not buildings?like you know a dark fortress or a mountain hall?
or as in
Absent Sites

so can i find artifacts in those areas like the book of life and death or the book of something else?I found out that these books

are in a dark fortress.

Edit. Oh Jesus Christ, Necro would be proud. The second horse in the caravan came in and immediately caught on fire. I looked into his inventory and found a burning pig tail fiber bag. Curious, I looked inside.

nope.

in adventure mode, the sites really do not exist, except in legends and "supposed to be" mode (the show up on your map, and you can get quests from others to do in there). They don't exist in the way that you can walk around inside the dark fortress. Or find any item or person supposed to be there

do they exist if i embark over them?(with a utility)
