He said "after a year" since vampires are uber charismatic he was probably elected shortly after he arrived.

no, it's still normal, he need alcohol to get through the working day and he prefers bumblebee mead (which I don't have)

That's probably it then; the quality levels of the available food aren't enough to generate a happy thought nor disgusting enough to make an unhappy one so it isn't listed either way.

If all your food was transformed into masterwork roasts and the booze was either produced by a Master (or better) Brewer or was bumblebee mead, it'd show up.
