Ok, so here's the deal. I've been running around with this adventurer for a bit now, he's doing decently, I've gone in and wiped out several lairs with multiple starving women, several night creatures, all without a scratch.

I saved a couple days ago just outside a lair, went it, wiped em out, no problem. Did some running for a local king, and jumped in a river as it froze. Oops.

So today, I load up the backup I made before I entered the lair, figuring, hey, read it's save-compatible, I'll just savescumm this posicle and keep going...

The moment I'm spotted, I get 3-4 pages of me dodging and rolling away from the starved woman, and suddenly I am deceased.

I keep save-scumming, I keep dying the moment I'm spotted.

In .07, I ran in and slaughtered the whole family, man woman, woman woman, and child woman. In .08, I don't even get a turn. Instant dodge and die.

Did something majorly change?

Oh, and I just loaded the save in .07. Slaughtered them without a scratch, as expected.

Is it because light travels faster than sound,
that people appear bright until you hear them speak?

Seriously? No one else has had their adventurer slaughtered the moment they moved the save over? I've savescummed dozens of times, .08 I rarely get a single turn of combat before I'm dead, .07 they never even touch me...

Hmm, may not be related but yesterday I started a demi god in the new release and she was unusually slow, like 900 speed compared to a normal 1200-1400

Ok, I think armour may have been tweaked to make you slow down more, so you sort of have an interesting trade off between armour/speed.

New densities probably have something to do with it. Train more armor skill.

... Of course it was... So my legendary fighter with 1400 points in lasher, 1200 in armor, shield, and dodger... Is Now useless. Fun.

Suppose it's more realistic, I have been able to beat up on bogeyman and night creatures right from the start... K. Guess I'll train him some more in 7 before I move the save to 8 for good.

Edit: I found a silver whip and a full set of iron armor in the warehouse I started next to, that's why I don't want to give him up quite yet, lol
