Move this to Adventure Mode Discussion.
On Topic: Strangling bogeymen is more fun imho.

I guess you're a real pinch hitter.

Pinching and whips are probably the most overpowered thing in the game, with someone with moderate wrestling skill being able to snap the limbs off of buzzards and watch them fly twenty feet into a cactus.

I have no idea. It auto attacked (I tried to move away to get a crack at its head) and its teeth flew when I bit it. Also, sorry COrai, but I also slaughtered some kobolds. Accidently found the camp and they jumped me.

You can do the same thing to people if they're asleep.

Wrestling bears is manlier

Yeah, well you can do that IRL as well. One doesn't simply wrestle a buzzard IRL. They fly away. Bears don't escape.

--> while playing DF, you have to wrestle buzzards. QED.

overpowered
In DF.

Wowsers.
In the sense that an adventurer can mutilate anything relatively easily while a fortress dwarf will get wrecked by anything he tries it with.

The only forums that you will see someone say that bears are easier to wrestle because they don't run away.

Valuing life seems too close to an aesthetic rule for me, I think.
Only in Dwarf Fortress is the value of life placed as "aesthetic."

Pinching is only really useful against enemies that are small enough that you could probably kill them anyway.  It does nothing against actual serious threats, and thus it's hardly "overpowered".

Broken is probably a better word, now that I think about it.
