Made some lists, not sure if they're actually good though. Not to mention I know nothing of the rules so I may not enter the campaign just yet.

As chaos, you have Range, Speed and cheap+effective Carriers on your side. You don't get the Nova Cannon, tons of Torpedoes or Armoured Prow like imperials, so plan around your strengths.

Edit: Looks like I missed out superior firepower. Chaos ships have far nastier broadsides than their imperial counterparts. Also, the best way to learn is to play against someone who's played the game before. I'm frequently up for a Cruiser Clash or other small battle to teach the basics.

Adwarf, I'm up for continuing our battle if you are.

Hm, so all around goodness, not bad than, I would've started with tau but I really wasn't to sure about torpedo's, I'll read up on the rules a bit more.

I adjusted some of the numbers for the Chaos Styx, due the 2010 faq saying it's about 260

Once a ship is destroyed in a game that ship is gone for good, and may not be used in any more matches, thus it must be struck from your fleet list. Even though ships can be destroyed you can use the points you gain from your planets to construct new ships to take their place, and this allows you to arm your fleet with stronger, and more able ships when the time arises. Ships that can be built are not limited to fleet restrictions when starting a campaign, but getting ships not on that list (From your side of course) will take two turns instead of one.

Whenever enemies land on a planet you may choose to attempt, and repel them (Thus the matches moves from space to a Vassal40K Map, as most people may not have the rules for this we could either teach them, or not use this optional rule at all).  Once the battle begins the defenders get to field a 1000 Point Army while the attackers get points depending on number of assault craft, and strength of them (Each assault boat's point value is their strength times 100). If the attackers are successful they are considered to have 'recovered', or 'discovered' some planet to space antiship systems giving them 3 Torpedo Launchers, 2 Launch Bays (2 Squadrons), and 2 Lance Batteries that can attack any ship within 15 Cm of the Planet. If the attackers when the defenders lose the session though they may attempt to finish the space battle, and send reinforcements from their ships back to the ground.

I'm not liking the optional 40k battle as I'm not interested in playing 40k right now, it just gives an advantage to anyone willing to land, and doubles the time spent playing, which will be long enough as it is.

Yeah that rule was already meh with me as I don't have a good grasp on how to play just getting my stuff yesterday :\, but the other two are okay with you guys? Also should I start another thread for the campaign in play with your buddies once we've got several people in (We've already got 3 people so far)

I have no clue what the difference is between normal and the house-ruled campaign stuff are, so I'm good with either. 

Not to mention yeah, I still play vassal40k and all that but I'm not interested in running planetstrike anytime soon. Though I wouldn't mind getting a few normal games in on the side.

Still reading the rules though, the 2010 faq clears up alot of stuff thankfully.
