I didn't end up suffering for my victory. Indeed, I only took 1 point of damage (From a Hit and Run raid on my Spess Mehreen strike cruiser), in return destroying all 14 escorts and the Hive Ship. My mines and other Ordnance scored most kills, including destroying the Hive Ship as it made its' way toward the planet.

VP totals were Burnt:1k+ (Probably around 1.15k, but I don't know exactly), Adwarf:0.

Lessons to take from this are A. Carrier heavy builds only work if you can field Bombers. B. Escorts are fragile but heavily armed for their points. Keep 'em shielded behind something big and tough, or in a huge mob so I can't kill them all before they fire. and C. Splitting up your forces only works if you have a very good plan. It flat out doesn't work for a 'Nid force with only one hive ship.

I suspect our next battle will see a much closer fight.

I don't know what this game is about or anything. It seems intresting. Anyone care to elaborate?

Battlefleet Gothic is space battles in the 40k Universe, essentially. 2 (Usually) equal forces fight it out and try to turn their opponents' ships into scrap. Turn Based tabletop game, we're playing using Vassal currently.

Main units are cruisers, capable of taking and dishing out damage, but you also see Escorts (Frigates and Destroyers, heavily armed but made of tissue paper), Heavy/Grand Cruisers (Bigger, punchier, slower), Battlecruisers (Punchier but not any harder) and Battleships, which are slow but ludicrously heavily armed and armoured.

Like standard 40k, each team has something they're good at; Eldar are quick, fragile and punchy, Imperials are slow, with good armour and a lot of Torpedoes, Chaos are faster and punchier than imperials, but don't usually have the ability to fire torps, Orks are tough from the front but ludicrously vulnerable if shot from behind, and so on.

For our next match Burnt Pies let it be Scenario 6, Convoy. This time you will most definitely encounter a much more challenging battle, as I have a much better grasp of how to work with an Imperial Navy >:3. One question though, whats the cost of an Transport? It doesn't really state that anywhere other then saying  its value is 'special'

Also putting links to the various resources for all of the Specialist games that are free in the OP

Transports don't cost anything, but for each pair of transports you get more units/ordnance to throw at me, and I get more defenders. or vice versa, depending on who's attacking. And yeah, knowing my usual tactics, general fleet make-up and how to fight Imperials will give you a much better chance.

I'm thinking of trying Chaos, their ships seem like they might be better for my playing style. Much nastier firepower and range, at the cost of the 6+ armour on the prow.

Well the point value of this seems a bit odd, for every two transports I have I get 100 points to spend on my fleet, so to play a 1500 point game I'd get my ships, and 30 transports .... I'll leave the exact point value up to you.

We're using Vassal, you'll have to find the Battlefleet Gothic Module yourself, apparently it is no longer on the vassal site.

Vassal does not seem to want to open the module folder. gonna have to tinker with it a bit I guess, I KNOW I got it to accept the 40k module somehow nevermind, it's working now. I'm up for a game whenever you guys are
