No testing needed. Bodyparts are FIT_FOR_ANIMATION, but only corpses are  FIT_FOR_RESURRECTION. :)

What if someone's bisected? What if someone's decapitated?

Doesnt matter, he will be resurrected and fully healed. His corpse, upper body. Nothing else, the head or lower body should remain lying around, and the guy runs happily around with a new head.

So the seat of the dwarven soul is the upper body.

Maybe ? Who knows ^^

I havent tested this regional interaction, but I use the one I posted for my "mage-healer-priest"-dudes, and this is how it seems to work. I wonder what the dwarves think when they see their own duplicate arm lying around somewhere. Reminds me of planescape torment...

Code: [Select]
[INTERACTION:RESSURECT]
[I_SOURCE:REGION]
[IS_REGION:GOOD_ONLY]
[IS_REGION:ANY_TERRAIN]
[IS_FREQUENCY:100]
   [I_TARGET:A:CORPSE]
      [IT_LOCATION:CONTEXT_ITEM]
      [IT_AFFECTED_CLASS:DWARF_INTER]
      [IT_REQUIRES:FIT_FOR_RESURRECTION]
      [IT_CANNOT_HAVE_SYNDROME_CLASS:RESSURECT]
      [IT_MANUAL_INPUT:corpses]
   [I_EFFECT:RESURRECT]
      [IE_TARGET:A]
      [IE_IMMEDIATE]
      [SYNDROME]
      [SYN_NAME:revival shock]
      [SYN_CLASS:RESSURECT]
      [CE_BODY_TRANSFORMATION:START:0:END:10]
         [CE:CREATURE:DWARF_HEAL:GENERIC]

This one should do it, and only affect creature with the class DWARF_INTER, which of course would be only dwarves, to make the reagion more... good. Would lead to no one really dieing, ever...

I'm going to undo the "only affects dwarves" part, okay? Otherwise it's too easy, and anyways my imagination is that the good regions are somewhat sentient, and can't stand death. Just like evil regions are somewhat sentient and can't stand life.

Oh, and the {code}{/code} tags are your friend.

Sure, go ahead. I am curious how testing will go. Endless battles of immortals, with unlimited bodyparts lying around. :)

I am immortal/ I have inside me blood of kings/ I have no rival/ No man can be my equal !

Also, cue good biomes, rather than being insufferable (mostly because of pixies, fairies, and fluffy wamblers) suddenly becoming extremely badass.

Spice it up by making a necromancer adventurer, retire him near the fort site, and use his powers to add reanimated bodyparts to the melee.

Oddly enough, nothing is happening. I tried to fix up some bugs or errorlogs or whatever you want to call them. I created a creature called a violet peafowl to meet my ressurection fix until then.

I just realized two things. 1. For the Win and F___ the World have the same initials. 2. They have the same meaning in Dwarf Fortress.

I'm a bit late on this... But... OF COURSE THE UPPERBODY IS THE SEAT OF THE DWARVEN SOUL! That is where their gigantic liver makes its home! Just clearing up some confusion about confusion that shouldn't be there.
