Mining drop rates

So the drop rates of mining is reduced, but the yield of each stone is increased. where in raws can I find the information about new rates and yield?

Nowhere - it's all hardcoded.

Smelting ore now gives 4x as much bars, and making rock blocks now gives 4 blocks. All of the "make alloy (from ore)" reactions have been updated, but everything else is unchanged - incidentally, this means that coal is now pretty much worthless.

How does this change affect steel? Do we now only need one unit of flux per 4x pig iron, and a second unit of flux per 4x steel?

I was wondering this myself. But it seems redunant to require the same amount of stone, when there's less of it. Because a legenadry miner is wrecking alot of whatever he hits witha pick.

I already miss my stone cluttered forts.

Ok, so gems habve a 100% drop rate, but not needed ores such as magnetite or lignite.... Hmm. Anyone else seeing a problem here?

Ores have had their amount of bars doubled or so from a single ore, so the net loss should even out with a decent metal industry

Still, miners wrecking everything nomatter how good they are saddens me. Stones not littering the place just seems not... just not right.

On the other side of the coin, you needn't avoid veins and gem clusters when digging out a shelter on a fresh embark with newbie miners.

Quadrupled, actually - a single chunk of hematite yields 4 bars of iron.

That's good, so ores I can deal with. But what about the rest hmmmmmmm?

Nah that's a little concieted of me. But still, a disproportionate amount of flux has been ruined by by miners.

ores are good and all, but any sort of mass stone crafts industry is doomed. And with the addition of minecarts i had hoped of seeing more rock and such dropped, as right now the mine carts are not that helpful for the collection of ore and stone(mind you other mass moving goods is great....like cloth or food)

Yeah, but outside that it seems the drop rates have defeated the purpose. I'm not going to bother with tracks because I don't need them with no stone that needs hauling, unless they've already been weaponized.

I watched my miners taking out rows of ore along the edges of my well cisterns.  Out of 10 sphalerite, one dropped.  Out of seven galena, none dropped.  Quadrupling the yield of bars from ore does help, but the ore drops are not 25%.
