Fill Pond Broken?
« on: May 14, 2012, 02:13:39 pm »

Is there some change in 34.08 to the mechanics of filling ponds or hauling water in buckets? Dwarves will grab a bucket and go stand by the water to fill it up, and they just stand there with a full bucket until something interrupts them.

EDIT: It appears all fill bucket jobs are broken. Dwarves won't wash wounded, either.

Yeah, just read your new minecart thread.Well that sucks. Not being able to fill ponds manually is irritating but minor, as there are workarounds. Not being able to wash wounded is pretty serious, especially with the new debris injuries.

I'm more than a bit miffed about having to use pumps to irrigate with no other option, and the prospect of no healthcare is equally frustrating.

I had a cocurrent bug where my dwarves would not dig an upward staircase when they had pathing to a downward staircase above it. Anyone else had this?

I don't have that problem. The problem I have is that I want to run a generational fort, start with the starting 7 and only grow via reproduction. But I cant figure out how to stop immigration.

Stops babies from being born if the population limit is set to 0 as far as I can tell.

How is fill pond broken? I have just filled a pond using buckets from a well. There's a steady little bucket chain going on, and there is 6/7 water in the pit.

Seems to work ok.

I wasn't filling from a well, but tried both murky pools and a river to no avail. Will try with a well.

.... No

pop cap deals with migrants

child cap deals with babies

explanation of the entry in the init file is ABOVE the entry

It sounds like the doctors should work with a well too... I build my hospital before my well... (because you should have clean water anyway) I haven't gotten any big forts going though, so can't say for sure.

apparently not :(
my chief medical dwarf stands with a bucket near the well, doing nothing and trying to con'v'ince me, he is applying a cast

since the wounds of the patient in question have healed in the meantime anyway, i kicked him out of his hospital bed. he immediately ran off to attend a party...
