Asane sighed, taking a moment to scan the rooftops of the village and mutter to herself as the chaos began to unfold. "You really are an omen, Myōchō-san..."

"Remain here, ashigaru. You have a duty to fulfill- we will catch them." Quickly scooping up her traveling bag, she heads after the group, calling out to the retreating samurai. "Justice looks kindly upon the brave! Face it and you may yet survive; only shame and death await if these samurai must cut you down from behind."

It wouldn't do to have a potentially innocent man slain as he fled, after all, and she might yet get that fight.

Oshaberi & Kenage
Someone runs out the back door, in search of a doctor. The barman offers up a bottle of sake and some strips of cloth free of charge. (12=3) Try as he might, though, Oshaberi only manages to spill the sake on the floor, and bloody the cloth.

"An...honorable duel," the Samurai replies to Kenage as Oshaberi attempts to work, "against a dishonorable foe, who chose to cripple rather than slay."

Isaac
You pay for the room, leaving you with 9 Koku and 2 Bu. Luckily, the room comes with a complimentary dinner for yourself and Pierce. Being foreigners, you both get strange looks while you eat, but the service doesn't seem to treat you any differently- money is money.

Asane & Hayato &  Katsu & Ted & Hori
Hori turns and attempts to quietly slip away as the Ashigaru advance, while Ted backs up and attempts to trick the soldiers. Katsu and Hayato attempt to cut off their escape routes on horse, while Asane assures the Ashigaru and attempts to give chase on foot. The Bodyguard remains to guard the body of the Magistrate, which is his job.

It doesn't take long for Hori to realize he's being chased, and he breaks into a sprint, attempting to lose himself in the crowd. (3430(19)=24) Which begins to disperse in fear as the Ronin with a bloodied blade charges at them!

(184=13) With all the chaos going on, you'd think the Ashigaru would buy Ted's story. But among all the shouting from two men on horses and the crowd behind him, his words seem to be lost. It doesn't show outwardly, but Ted knows that his attempt at a lie was a low act. Ted loses 2 honor.
With that, he spins and attempts to dash away through the rapidly dispersing crowd and into an alleyway. (98376=24)

Hayato and Katsu both attempt to maneuver their bewildered mounts through the increasingly chaotic crowd. (9549=23 and 850(17)77=32) Both do a fair job of it, though Hayato's pony is slowed down some in the process (-1k0).

(344954=22) But Hayato's mount is unable to keep up with Hori and Ted.
(3305292=24) Luckily, Katsu's mount is closer and swifter, and quickly keeps pace with Ted!

Asane attempts to reassure the Ashigaru, to ensure a fair fight if the Ronin and Akahoshi-Samurai are caught! (243=12) But she fails, and they continue to chase the two! (932=12) But everyone is able to outrun the Ashigaru!
Seeing that Ted is being well-pursued, Asane heads after Hori! (40(15)24=23) But quickly loses him among the chaotic, fleeing crowd of peasants.

(7981835=32 vs 67548=21) Just then, Katsu gains the lead and swings his pony about, blocking Ted's path! Ted comes to a screeching halt, the Ryoshun with a Naginata staring him down.

'Ah well,' Hori thought, 'Guess I won't be getting any of that food I smelled. At least I saved a peasant!'

Katsu was staring at the man he just caught, his naginata lowered and pointed at him.

Now, we start from the beginning. Drop your weapons and I will refrain from harming you. I want the entire situation explained to me, preferably with magistrate. Are you going to come along peacefully, or should I treat you roughly?"

Force Ted to surrender.

Ted drew his katana after coming to a halt, although he refrained from attacking. "Please hear me out Ryoshun-sama, I have done nothing wrong. I challenged the samurai to a fair duel and won, however I admit that I acted dishonorably by lying and trying to start a rebellion. It was very foolish and I did so because I could not control my anger over the fact that the magistrate tried to have an innocent man executed. Do we truly need to fight because I acted rashly, Ryoshun-sama?" He stopped talking and took a deep bow towards the horseman. "I hold no ill will towards you or your clan, please let me pass before I am forced to fight you and your friends. If not then I am afraid that blood will have to be spilled, Ryoshun-sama."

If Ted is not allowed to pass then drop into a full defense stance.

"Stay with me now. So, what clan did this opponent of yours belong to?"

Do whatever is necessary to keep the samurai alive (stop the bleeding) while still questioning him. Keep him awake. If necessary (the bleeding won't stop), use a tourniquet.

He looked on the man as he drew his sword and said his piece. The idiot has no quarrel with him! apparently he failed to realise who Katsu was or where he is.

"You insulted me and my clan by your very defiance and act of rebellion!" Katso said imperiously.
"This is Ryoshun land and I am of that family and I serve Shogun. I was tasked with keeping the peace in the outlying lands and you have just disturbed that peace. I advise you to come with me peacefully or suffer the consequences. I won't have rabble-rousers roaming  in my clan's land!"

If Ted does not drop his weapon, attack him.

"It appears that you have less honor than the magistrate himself, he is ignorant to the fact that he is dishonorable and corrupt while you willfully acknowledge and ignore the fact that a man you serve is worthless. If you will not move then let us fight on even terms. Come down from your steed or I will end up cutting it down. " He said as he dropped into a full defensive stance.

Full defense stance if he does not move.

Asane & Hayato &  Katsu & Ted

Pre-Round: (13281=11/2=5) Ted drops into a crouch, entering the Full Defense stance! He refuses to surrender. Katsu refuses to move his horse, and makes to attack (59629=24), but just barely fails to keep his horse calm!

Initiative Order (Stance, Weapons, Armor, Wound State in italics) New Rolls in Acronym
Hayato Declare Stance Please, Naginata, Light (20+5against slower), Healthy (0) - Will arrive at end of round.
Katsu Attack Stance, Naginata, Light (20+5against slower), Healthy (0) - Horse out of control! (Will move/attack on it's own turn)
Ted Full Defense Stance, Katana, Ashigaru (23+5), Healthy (0) - In the chaos, Ted is unable to use his training to his advantage.
Asane Declare Stance Please, Naginata, Light (25), Healthy (0) - Will arrive at end of round.
Katsu's Horse Healthy (0)

Katsu swings his Naginata down! (7510(17)5=29) Just narrowly forcing his way through Ted's parry! With the still-fleeing crowd around them, Ted is unable to use his training to his advantage and is struck! (65285=14|14-1=13 wounds) Katsu's naginata grazes his arm!

Ted remains in the full defense stance.

Katsu's Horse whinnies and bucks at the sight of blood! It's all Katsu can do to hold on as it bolts through the square, barreling through the fleeing peasant mob and down the street, bringing itself and Katsu a total of 50 feet from the fighting!

As Hayato and Asane arrive on the scene, cornering Ted, the peasant mob finally begins to disperse! With only one foot-soldier and a mounted samurai to contend with, Ted should be able to use his technique again by the end of the next round!

Initiative Order (Stance, Weapons, Armor, Wound State in italics)
Hayato Declare Stance Please, Naginata, Light (20+5against slower), Healthy (0)
Katsu Attack Stance, Naginata, Light (20+5against slower), Healthy (0) - 50 Feet from Ted, Hayato, and Asane
Ted Full Defense Stance, Katana, Ashigaru (23+5), Grazed (13) - In the chaos, Ted is unable to use his training to his advantage.
Asane Declare Stance Please, Naginata, Light (25), Healthy (0)
Katsu's Horse Healthy (0) - Out of control! (Will attack AND move on it's own turn), 50 Feet from Ted, Hayato, and Asane

Oshaberi & Kenage
(64=10) Oshaberi resorts to a tourniquet, which stops the blood flow but may ultimately do more harm than good. "Ak-..." the armless Moretsu begins to reply, "...Akahoshi..." before collapsing to the floor. The Geisha accompanying him let out a horrified gasp.
He isn't dead yet.

Hori
(93420(18)=31) You head deeper into the forest and set three snares, before starting a small cooking fire in a clearing. It isn't long before you go back to check those same snares: You caught a single lone rabbit, its front leg twisted and broken by the snare. You quickly and mercifully kill it and begin cooking your dinner for the night.

Rabbit wasn't necessarily a food Hori found particularly good, but he's had to fend on just rabbit so many times in his short life that he could easily call it his favorite dish with a straight face.
-He makes a small shelter, puts the fire out after finishing his meal, then sleeps-

Stay in full defensive stance for now. Should Ted get extremely hurt then immediately surrender, but stay in full defense while surrendering

Bloody horse...
While his mount took him away from the combat, it appeared that the rest of the "interested party" caught up with the insolent man. Katsu was eager to get back there and teach him a solid lesson.

Rejoin combat with Ted.

"I'll keep that name in mind."

Now that the bleeding has stopped, take a moment to bandage the arm, and treat the samurai for shock. (lay on back, legs elevated, etc.) When the doctor arrives, stand back and let him do his work.

"Ahhh... it can't be helped, I suppose..." She'd nearly caught up to the ronin, but she wasn't used to maneuvering though masses of people like this... the moment she lost sight of him in the throng, he was long gone.

There was nothing like a bit of a chase to get the blood pumping, though, so she might as well check to see how the cavalry were handling the Akahoshi samurai before reporting back to the village magistrate and retiring to a tavern for drink and stories... these sorts of stops were best used for resting and information gathering, so getting in the magistrate's good graces was as good a place to start as any.

Arriving on the scene just as the Morikano does, she can't help but to chuckle at the Ryoshun's misfortune as his mount betrays him. "My, my... There have already been a corpse, a cripple, and a monk made today, Akahoshi-san; you really should give up while you're ahead..."
