"...Eh?" Asane begins to follow the bravo out of the inn, taking a moment to mull over his response.

"I do enjoy sake in hot springs, but shouldn't we do it here? I wouldn't wish to disrespect the temple or disturb anyone bathing..."

She tilts her head, tapping her chin thoughtfully before adding, "Also, fighting in water is difficult. I would have an obvious advantage."

Asane
Akio leads you out through a side-door, handily and unknowingly avoiding the need to bear witness to the accidental death of a Samurai.

One of Akio's compatriots tugs at his sleeve once more, whispering something to him. Idly, he responds, "If fighting's what she wants to call it, she can."

It isn't long before you reach the baths, which are situated right outside the temple. With a grin, Akio says, "They aren't co-ed, but we can both go in the woman's, never anyone around here at night."

Kenage
You arrive and ask about, learning that the only female ronin who was seen today was last seen leaving the Inn accompanied by three young men from the local tavern. She had purportedly been drinking, and one of the three was a famed womanizer.
Someone mentions something about hot springs.

Oshaberi
You head to the public baths. They're a tad crowded this afternoon, but you're able to find a spot in the men's half.

((You have not, and they wouldn't know you are a ninja anyways. Some of the servants live somewhere in the magistrate's house, the rest live in a smaller building within the fenced-in area. The guards likely live at the barracks/prison down the street.))

Hori
"That man is Kitsune Noboru," the Ronin replies, motioning for one of his bandits to sit and drink in your stead, "and I am Yoshimori, a bandit and Ronin. We cannot allow you to leave, because you have seen him, and we are holding him hostage. Are you sure you wouldn't like a drink?"

Hori was growing ever more impatient with people of this camp. What started is an itching suspicion was made clear by the revelation that they were bandits. Getting out without a fight wasn't an option, but bandits weren't like normal people. Cut down the leader, and who knows how they'll react? He decided to play along for a while.
-He responds, "I find drinking to be a distraction. If I can't think clearly while fighting, then there's no point. But a hostage, eh? Bandits are getting more and more political... I don't care much for politics. Who is this Noboru guy? What has he done to make him worthy as a hostage?"-

Kenage inquires about the hot springs, as he hasn't had a bath since before he got on the train, and could use some relaxation after his meeting with the Magistrate.

Unless interrupted by anyone, take a bath in the male side and then retire to Sun Blossom for the night.

Search for places on the three shortest streets where i can hide on the roofs of the buildings, but still see the entire street.

(( Not much roleplaying yet, maybe later.))

Take a bath in the men's side, and return to the Sun Blossom if I'm not interrupted.

Long after his chat with the other Ryoshun had concluded, Hayato set off towards the Magistrate's palace for his audience. He was eager to get more information about this Genki rabble.

'Are we having the same conversation...?' Asane nods, still somewhat bemused. "As you say... You two should wait here, this shouldn't take long~"

With a nod to the two lackeys, she headed inside, humming cheerfully to herself as she disrobed before entering the bath proper, and only taking a cursory glance around for other occupants. "So, it was "best swordsman in Sumeru" was it, Akio-bōzu?"

She spins with a grin and flourish of her naginata, leveling the the weapon at him.

"I will be your opponent, and judge your claim! Please, try not to let me kill you by accident~"

Attack stance! When combat begins, strike only with the butt of the naginata and the back and flats of the blade for nonlethal damage.

Kenage
You inquire as to the locations of the springs. They're just outside the temple, about a ten minute's walk from the market, up hill. Someone jokes that it might take you a little longer to get there, all things considered.

Katsu, Day One
You bathe uninterrupted, save for some splashing and light conversation, one voice of which is suspiciously deep, on the other side of the wooden wall. You then had back to the Sun Blossom Inn and pay 1 Bu for a room, leaving you with 4 Koku, 1 Bu, and 5 Zeni. (790(18)=34) When entering the Inn, you choose to make use of a back entrance, so as to avoid the temptation of a drink entirely.

The next day you awake and head straight to the meeting with Magistrate Hajime...

Asane

With a grin, Akio shoos his followers away and follows you into the bath house. As you turn around, Naginata in hand, his eyes widen in surprise. It takes him a moment to figure out what's going on, and even then it's clear that he's a little confused: "A-an assassin?! Very well then, Samurai-ko! You will see why I am so great!"
You are the only two people in the bath house.
Akio rushes to pick up both his katana and wakizashi, flicking both out of their sheaths before you attack.

Initiative Order (Stance, Weapons, Armor, Wound State in italics)
Asane Attack Stance, Naginata, Nude (20), Healthy (0)
Akio Attack Stance, Katana, Nude (20+1), (0)

(16478=15) Asane attempts to slam the butt of her weapon into Akio's face, but he makes a cross with his blades, holding the attack back!

Ducking under the opening he made with his parry, Akio lashes out with his katana! (678970(14)=31-5=26|23657=13) And though Asane attempts to jump back, his blade grazes her exposed abdomen!

Initiative Order (Stance, Weapons, Armor, Wound State in italics)
Asane Attack Stance, Naginata, Nude (20), Nicked (13)
Akio Attack Stance, Katana, Nude (20+1), (0)

Oshaberi
(53/100) Your bathe is uninterrupted, though you overhear some rumors circulating that someone was murdered in the woman's bathhouse the night before.

Yoru
(59=14) Most of the roofs are made of straw or some other thin material, but there are a few with flat, concrete roofs. You'd need to find a way up there, though.

Hori
"I wouldn't say we are getting political, simply smarter. He is the son of a wealthy Kitsune magistrate in Yamahisa, or so I am told," Yoshimori replies, gently sipping his sake, "and you need not worry about fighting, we are all friends here, are we not? You, a peasant who has somehow acquired a Samurai's blade and we, bandits...you need not worry about fighting, we are one in the same."

The uneasiness subsides, Hori is no longer shaken.

Hayato & Katsu (Day Two)
Arriving at the Magistrate's estate roughly around the same time (though Hayato arrives first), you are ushered into the tatami room by servants. Magistrate Hajime already sits before a table on which a map of the outlying area has been laid out. To his left, the uninjured bodyguard from yesterday's chaos stands. A man who (80(13)6=27|76=15) you both recognize only as a samurai of the Kitsune family sits to the Magistrate's right. The one-armed man, heavily bandaged but looking much healthier than he did the last time you saw him, stands guard by the door by which you both have entered.

Once you have both been seated, Magistrate Hajime speaks: "Ryoshun Katsu-kun and Morikano Hayato-kun, it is good that you could make it. Ken'ichi-dono has informed me that his torturer has uncovered rather disturbing information from the prisoner."
Hajime falls silent, allowing the man seated to his right to speak. Kitsune Ken'Ichi produces a folder, placing it over the map, "It would appear that the Taiyo clan is involved in our recent troubles as well. Our scouts inform us that somewhere around one-hundred and twenty-five Genki soldiers currently brazenly march the road to Sumeru."

"They no doubt think that their spy has already opened the way for them, and that the Chief Magistrate Saburo still believes them to be reinforcements for the war effort," Ken'Ichi adds with a grim smile.

Hori was now seated. They either didn't want a fight at all, or they didn't want to lose anyone to a lone enemy. But he could tell these people weren't for him. He would speak for a while, but he was going to find a way out and back on his journey.
-He responds, "I don't see us as one in the same. You say you're growing smarter, to me that says you just want somewhere to be. I don't care if the whole world rejects me, I only seek the strong. A challenge. Anything I can use to further myself. And what were you like before becoming a bandit?"-

"Well, if the lady ronin does return, ask her to wait her. I'm headed for the hot springs, but I shouldn't be gone for too long."

With that he heads off to the temple.

"Eh...? Assassin? ...What are you, some kind of idiot? We've been talking about sparring ever since you were bragging about how great you were back at the inn."

Asane chuckled, adjusting her stance. "I don't intend to kill you, Akio-bōzu; I just want to see how strong you are, and I have to say, you're not bad~

...Since you decided to insult me, though, let's see if you can dodge this!"

Full attack!

"If I may suggest Magistrate-sama" Katsu spoke up, "the most obvious solution would be to ambush them and subvert their deception. They will be defenseless, for they don't suspect to be intercepted. Even a small force a half of their size would be able to defeat them if it strikes suddenly and sows confusion in their ranks."
