Resist would be useless, he was still hurt and there was also still a chance that he would be let go. Although he doubted he was being let go now, the chance that he was going to be questioned was more likely. The chances the questioning was going to be rather violent was also likely.

Wait and see what happens.

((Oh, fun. Decisions, decisions.))

First, dispose of the documents- fire works well, but isn't always handy, and he wants to be unseen in this. Then, he goes to the magistrate's house to discuss delivering the order, payment, and other business-related items. While there, he'll take a good look at the layout and security measures of the place, in addition to looking for easily corruptible servants, guards, etc. Inconspicuously, of course. Also, he asks to speak to Ted, so that he may meet the man who injured the samurai, asking to talk to him alone. He carries his walking stick at all times.

Talking points for the business discussion:
-Payment (maximise profit, don't gouge- give him a good, but profitable deal.)
-Delivery; how, when, where, and who.
-Questions?
-Random news and gossip (small talk)

((Also, what level is the criminal science around here, like do they have fingerprints, blood testing, etc.? Also, what poisons do I have access to, and are there any contacts I can use in the area?))

"Ah, but of course... sake, please." Humming quietly to herself, Asane takes a seat on a cushion by the wall, stowing her hat and breastplate in her bag and producing a small sake dish as she settled down for a long evening of drinking and stories, naginata safely tucked behind her.

"Damn, a steel fence!
I can't get over or through it!" Yoru wisphered to himself.

Ask around about how criminals get executed around here. Ask this like you want to know if the punishment is bloody enough.

Hayato & Katsu
The two of you ride along, wherever it is you might be going, and converse.

Kenage
(0(16)97934=34)
You sit cross-legged upon the tatami mat by the wall to the left of the door you entered by for what seems like forever. Finally, Magistrate Hajime silently enters from a door to your right. You clamber to your feet, and greet each other with a bow before sitting once more.
A moment later, servants enter with hot towels. You wash only your hands, before informing the Magistrate that you are ready to eat.

The meal is served, and the two of you make unimportant small talk for quite some time. Finally, as the meal is winding to an end, the Magistrate broaches the subject. "So, Kenage-kun," he begins, "We have captured the warrior and spy of an enemy clan, and you wish for me to set him free?"

Asane
(46/100) You purchase a bottle of sake for 1 bu (leaving you with 4 bu). Though it's rather uncouth to do so, you serve yourself-- it isn't like anybody else is around.

You aren't much into your cups when three young men, samurai come to train at the local temple by the looks of it, swagger up to your table. The lead flashes you a predatory grin, flexing one of his muscles. "Heyyy there, samurai-ko, the name's Akio. You might have heard about those two Morikano bodyguard that got cut down earlier. That was me."

His two lackeys bob their head and mumble a number of "Yeahs" and "Yeses" collaborating his tale.

Isaac
(94=13) The man's eyes widen as he sees you half-draw your rapier. He stops in his tracks, his own hand straying to one of the two blades hanging from the sash of his kimono. "A hidden weapon, foreigner?" He queries, an edge to his voice despite the slur, "You're a dishonorable coward, too? Well then!"

He steps forward, drawing his weapon and slashing at you wildly (0(17)491=26|75525=12|12-5=7), and much too quickly for you to dodge! But Pierce steps in the way, taking the blow on your behalf. His chain mail crinkles and shatters beneath the force of the blow.

Initiative Order (Stance, Weapons, Armor, Wound State in italics)
Isaac Declare Stance Please, Rapier, None (20), Healthy (0)
Drunken Bushi Attack Stance, Longsword, Ashigaru (18), (0)
Pierce Defense Stance, Longsword, Light (20), Nicked (7)

Oshaberi
You slip the documents into your furoshiki and exit the warehouse. Heading into the forest, you use some flint and tinder from your furoshiki to create a small campfire and burn the evidence. Then you head back to Sumeru, and the Magistrate's Estate:

A large wooden building of an older style save for the chain link and barbed wire fence which surrounds it. Several Ashigaru mill about, both at the fence's gate and on regular guard patrol. You can make out what appears to be a koi pond on one side, and a rock pond on the other. If you can get past the gate, there are plenty of ways inside the main building.

As is customary, your wakizashi is not confiscated upon entering the property. (66261=18) And you are able to convince them to let you keep your "walking stick."

(68=14) There are several windows, balconies, and doorways to enter if you somehow make it past the fence and across the yard without being seen. The servants don't allow you to progress past the guest room, though, so you don't get to get a good sense of the layout.
(580(15)64=29) You make small talk with some of the guards and servants as you're shown in. They're almost all just lowly peasants trying to make a living. For the right price, you could probably get them to help you so long as they don't know it will threaten their livelihood. It will take some work to get someone to act as a knowing accomplice to your plan, though. You can bet they'll stay silent about having helped you, though, once the Magistrate dies: They're likely to be executed without a trial if it even looks like they're complicit.

After a moment of waiting, a servant informs you that the magistrate is ready to be seen, if you will simply follow him out to the pond.

Hori
(840(17)=25 vs ???) You follow the tracks, attempting to remain as stealthy as possible as you make your way through the forest. You're relatively certain nobody sees you, because after a few hours of tracking, you sight smoke in the distance.
Creeping closer, you find yourself gazing at several tents in a clearing. Makeshift walls made of felled wood have been set up around them, forming a crude palisade. Two ashigaru-wearing men bearing what looks like farming equipment stand guard at the two entrances. A single horse is tied up near the biggest tent. In the center of the camp, inside a separate palisade and beneath a makeshift tent, a number of people, some Samurai by the looks of it, are tied and bound.

Ted
"You're going to talk, scum," the man who grabbed you growls, dragging you down a flight of concrete steps. "How many soldiers are in the Genki Forces?" he asks, but before you have a chance to respond he shoves you face first into an ice cold bucket of water, and holds you down...

(798652=24 vs 803=21) The man begins to torture you mercilessly, repeatedly asking for information on how many soldiers the Genki clan plans to attack with, what direction they're coming from, who is leading them, and other such nonsense which you don't know anything about without ever giving you the chance to answer.
Finally, holding up a white hot brand, he pauses to let you speak. You crack almost immediately, tears welling up in your eyes as you explain that you just don't know. He doesn't think that answer is acceptable.

Yoru
(06=16) You are informed that the execution will be announced the day before it happened, and is public, taking place in the nearby sporting arena. It's a simple affair, with one of the Magistrate's bodyguards simply beheading the criminal.
(48=12)

No, whoever this idiot thought he was, he obviously wasn't the ronin she's chased after earlier. Not that she'd let on to that...

"Hohoho my, is that so, Akio-bōzu~?" Asane leaned forward, cheeks slightly flushed, to inspect the brash samurai, idly swirling her drink around the rim of the sakazuki. "I'd heard from the villagers that the men responsible were brigands and traitors, with little honor and less good sense, who tried to kill the magistrate and his bodyguards and stir up a rebellion, and fled like dogs when they failed."

She leaned back against the wall, taking a sip of sake. "Oh, and that there were two of them," she added as an afterthought. "Of course, those were the most sensible accounts, among tales of the magistrate being accosted by oni, hengeyōkai, or ninja."

While being tortured Ted realized one thing. That thing being that the man torturing him would not take 'I don't know' or 'I was working alone' as an answer. He could try of course, but he would probably be killed. There was only one thing that Ted could do so that there wouldn't be a war waged upon his clan. So he lied. He realized lying was a dishonorable thing to do but he had no other option. "F-fine I'll tell you. The Taiyo clan employed me to try to start a small rebellion in this town so that they could strike," He spit out as he continued to lie. "I don't know what family was directly behind it or the name of the person who was going to pay me for doing it" He said, telling the torturer the last of it. This wouldn't be good for anybody if the man torturing him believed what he said. The Taiyo clan would be attacked by the Ryoshun and probably defeated, and if the man didn't believe him then his clan would still be in trouble. This was the only thing he could try though, and so he tried.

Hori was distressed. He had no way of knowing whose side to be on, but the samurai who were tied up seemed in... greater need than the peasants. Still, without knowing the situation, it would be difficult to make a choice. His best chance would be to create a distraction and wait.
-He finds a good position, then shoots an arrow at the rope keeping the horse tied up-

Kenage uses his Ikebana courtier training to try to figure out from the past conversation what the Magistrate most needs or desires.

Kenage
(3358692=23 vs 4623379=22) You twisted the small-talk towards the apparent impending attack as you spoke. It seems that Magistrate Hajime is in possession of paper treaties with the Tokaku clan, who's homelands are located to the south. He isn't certain that they'll honor the treaty, though, unless a trained courtier is sent to remind them of it.

Asane
Akio and his lackeys are taken aback by your response, and one of them looks like they might bolt and run at any second. The other grabs at the sleeve of Akio's kimono, stammering, "A-Akio, maybe we should just drop it, huh? She's not interested an-"
The leader of the trio tugs his arm away, pointing at you as he shouts, "Now you listen, lady! I don't know what you've heard, but I am Morikano Akio! If I say that I took out two Moretsu Swordsman, I damn well did because I'm one of the best swordsman in this shithole."

Yoru
You seek out the sporting area. It's basically just a big field for whatever physical games or competitions the locals decide to take part in, and it's probably seen its fair share of duels, too. It's fenced in by high, concrete walls with an open ceiling and a large gate at each of the cardinal directions. There are stands inside, for spectators.

Right now, a group of five or so people are playing kemari. But they aren't very good at it.

Oshaberi
You follow the servant out to the pond, where the Magistrate beckons you to sit. (72384=15) Magistrate Hajime is quick to inform you that he doesn't take part in anything so uncouth as buying and selling goods, but he would be willing to give you 20 koku for the donation of farming supplies. That would leave 18 Koku for your family, giving you a cut of 2 if you accept it.

(88871=24 vs 0(0(26))276840(0(25))=59) The Magistrate simply informs you that the Akahoshi prisoner is not to be seen by anyone but interrogators and law enforcement officials. He certainly may not be seen alone, as is Ryoshun Clan protocol. He argues this point rather succinctly, and you don't think you'd have a very good time persuading him otherwise.
(You don't get to retry this roll, because you just made an action of it. Had you actually engaged the conversation, this would have been one battle among several until you came to an agreement.)

Ted
You decide to try to lie through your teeth, a necessary if dishonorable act.
However, it occurs to you that this lie in particular would be incredibly honorable as it would protect your family and clan's interest at great risk to yourself: If they believe you, it will prove that you are little more than a spy and thus worthless. Your life would be immediately forfeit to your captors, to do with as they please. But if they believe you and choose to kill you, at least you will know that you have died with honor. Do you go still through with it?

Hori
(413=7 vs ???) You string your bow, and sneak closer to the camp, attempting to get a vantage point... (676=13) However just as you're about to line up the shot, you hear a hiss, and an arrow stands quivering in the ground beside your foot! A shout goes up, and the nearest two guards look about in alarm.
From above you, in the tree you're hiding under, a man readies a second arrow, and calls out to you, "Put your weapon down, Ronin-san!"
