"For various reasons~" Asane chuckled. "In truth, I don't know for how long our paths will converge, but until then..." She sighed, removing her paddy hat. "But as much as I would love to speak of them at length over sake, you have places to be. Let's just say I find your conviction inspiring, and would hate to see it go to waste... Bandits and youkai lurk the wilderness, and that Akahoshi hasn't earned anyone's trust... if we even see him again."

"Well, if you want to come along, I'm not going to stop you. You seem to be a decent enough person, and I wouldn't mind your company. Though, seeing the way the magistrate responded to you, I mean no offense, but it's probably for the best that he doesn't think I have anything to do with you. Pleased don't take it personally, it's just that I suspect I'm going to have a hard enough time convincing him as it is."

Kenage & Asane
A drunken bushi bearing no mon stumbles past you as you enter the inn. The Doctor assures you that the cost has already been dealt with- As your brother was fighting on behalf of the magistrate, all expenses will be paid by the magistrate. Cushy health insurance, that.

Hayato & Katsu
One of you makes conversation!

Isaac
If only you had a monocle, a handlebar mustache, and a cane. And better tea. You don't know what's wrong with the tea here, but it's just...barbaric.

Regardless, you turn to abscond to your hotel room, fully intending to return to your your meal, which is likely now tepid. You don't get the chance.
As the crowd clears, a brown-robed man with a graying top-knot stumbles from the Sun Blossom Inn, his eyes locked on either yourself or Pierce. You honestly can't tell. Words slurred, he points to one of the two, though likely you, and states: "Gaijin...y'need some'un t'come 'round protectin' you? Cowardly like a woman."

He apparently failed to notice the female warrior who had followed the fat man into the inn only moments before.

Oshaberi
You pay for another night, leaving you with 8 Koku and 2 Bu.
The shipment is exactly as you expected. You should be able to turn a tidy profit on your families behalf. After the owner of the warehouse has left you to your own devices, you shift some of the equipment aside, a difficult task in its own right, to reveal two folders beneath. Assignments, by the looks of it. Your family, or the Shogunate, wasted no time in making use of you upon hearing that you arrived here. You'll need to destroy them quickly, after reading them.

Hori
(119=11) You search the first class compartment, but are unable to find any signs of remaining passengers save for the blood stains and battle standard. There are, of course, the cuts and slash-marks you found earlier.
The compartment after that, the passenger compartment in which the less wealthy would travel, is much different. First, between the two, a second conductor's corpse can be found: His head has been smashed, literally squashed flat by something. Next, three or four passengers lay dead in the aisles beyond. Far less than the train was likely carrying, though. But it doesn't look like they put up much of a fight.

Yoru
(22=4) You ask around about a possible rebellion. Someone mentions that it's odd that a ronin was doing the same thing yesterday, just before a Genki clan member and a different ronin attempted to start a rebellion. Nobody wants to rebel (14=5) and it doesn't seem like anyone really cares that you seem to think they should.

(43=7) While wandering around the village, you attempt to coerce a house cat to you so you can kill it and consume its flesh, but it would have none of that and ran off.

Hori was sick of playing the detective's game. He was a hunter, not an investigator. He was going to do this his way, for better or worse. Every prey, and every predator leaves some form of track, and he was going to find what he needed. The people responsible were clearly not too interested in keeping things clean, so he was confident.
-He searches for any tracks-

Hayato studied the Ryoshun samurai for a moment before answering. He did not recognize the man's family symbols, but that was no reason to disrespect him.

'Of course, Ryoshun-san. There was another man there first, a ronin - did you see him? One of the peasants had disrespected the honoured Magistrate, and his samurai seeked to administer judgement to him. The first ronin then interrupted, challenging the Magistrate's samurai to a duel. The vile rebel we arrested then thought to use the situation to his advantage and attacked the other. After killing the bodyguards, I and several others thought the Magistrate's life was in danger and stepped forward - however, the rebel began inciting the people to rebellion and then fled, leaving us no option but to pursue them.'

He paused, giving Katsu a respectful nod. 'Your aid was appreciated, Ryoshun-san. It is unfortunate the ronin escaped, but he will be brought to justice sooner or later.'

Unless Asane has more to say or he is interrupted in some way, Kenage heads to the Magistrate's house.

"I'm glad to have this situation resolved, although there isn't much that can be done about the other rebel. If the one we caught speaks truth, maybe he can give us clues as to the location to the one that ran away."

Katsu decided to change the tone of the discussion. With situation finally resolved, it was time to make aquaintances.

"May I ask your name, Moriko-san? If we are to work together with the magistrate, its good idea to know your fellow bushi. I'm Ryoshun Katsu, of the Shogunate family."

'Morikano Hayato. I am honoured,' Hayato said. 'It is good to have honourable samurai in Sumeru if there really is a rebel force approaching. Do you intend to stay?'

Oshaberi checks around the warehouse to make sure nobody's around before heading back in to the shipment. Pretending to inspect one of the tractors, he reads his assignments.

Make sure nobody's around to spy on me, and if the coast is clear, read the files while pretending to inspect a tractor in detail.

"Sir, you are clearly inebriated." Isaac said as he gripped the handle of his umbrella tightly, before nodding his head towards Pierce, "He also carries my things."

After being captured and imprisoned Ted had little to do but wait and hope that the courtier would persuade the magistrate to let him help hunt down the ronin. Attempting escape would prove that he could not be trusted ever and if he was caught after escaping then he had no doubt that there would be an execution.

Unless anything happens go to sleep to heal wounds.

Isaac
"Ha!" The drunk replies, swaying as he comes closer to you, "Can't even carry your own things? You foreigners are like women! I bet you can't fight either, gaijin."
Pierce gives you a look which would seem to indicate that you need only say the word, and he will wreck this fool. Unless you'd like to handle it yourself, of course.

Kenage
You head through the rapidly darkening streets, until finally you come across a large wooden building of an older style save for the chain link and barbed wire fence which surrounds it. Several Ashigaru mill about, and a lamplight flickers by a koi pond off to side, illuminating two shadowy figures. You'd guess at least one is a Geisha, and the other is likely the Magistrate.

One of the Ashigaru inspect you for a moment, before ushering you into the building itself where you are greeted by a Geisha who silently ushers you through a sliding door into an empty dining room containing little more than a hanging lantern, a table, and several tatami mats. She then leaves you to your own devices.

Asane
The fat man has left you to your own devices in the Sun Blossom Inn. As you stand about, one of the waitresses wanders over and informs you that you are free to sit anywhere. A cup of tea will be between 2 to 5 zeni, depending on the blend, and you will need your own cup if you desire sake.

Ted
Someone binds your wounds, as it would do no good for you to bleed out before they kill you, and then locks you up. You curl up in a corner of your cell, and attempt to get some sleep...

The next morning, you are merely hurt, (6 wounds healed-23 wounds total) not injured. Just as the sun peeks through the high-set, tiny window of your cell the door swings open and someone roughly grabs you, pulling you out.

Yoru
You wander about a bit, until you stumble across a large, rectangular concrete building set off to the side. Considering the fence set around it, the ashigaru found training in the yard beyond that, and the apparent bars on the window, it's an easy guess that this place is where prisoners are kept.
You could climb over the fence, but the likelihood that you'd be spotted is incredibly high. Further, there only appears to be one entrance into the compound itself as all the windows are tiny, barred, and set rather high up.

Hori
(7930(17)4=33) You hop out of the train car, and immediately set about to searching for tracks. It must have been a day, at least, since they were made, and your own tracks make it all the harder, but it doesn't take you long to find them. A large number of tracks lead from the train into the forest. You'd estimate between fifteen to twenty people.
You can follow the tracks, if you'd like.

Oshaberi
(81=9|871661=21) You glance around, and it looks like the coast is clear so you open up the envelopes.

The first contains a picture which you immediately recognize from the other day: It's the Magistrate. Seems his name is Ryoshun Hajime, and they want you to kill him. Not just that, though: They want you to kill him, and pin the blame on a member of the Genki Clan. The text explains that he can't fight in the slightest, his compound is guarded nearly 24/7, and he has only one bodyguard at the moment- the other is currently recovering from a severe injury. This job comes from your family. They don't care if you do it before or after the second job, but the sooner the better.
Boy, do they work fast or what?

The second contains a picture which you don't recognize, save for a resemblance to the first. It's the Magistrate's son, Ryoshun Takashi. This job apparently comes from the Shogunate: It doesn't state that explicitly, but it's got their feel all over it. Seems Takashi left Sumeru early yesterday morning, accompanied by his bodyguard Dai and six ashigaru. He's heading west, to train at a Taiyo Dojo and this potential conflict of interest cannot stand. They want you to kill him. They don't care how, and they don't care who gets blamed for it so long as it isn't a member of the Clan. According to the dossier, if his father dies, he's next in line for succession. He's got the sort of personality that indicates he's likely to come back to Sumeru to revel in his new station, if only for a little bit.

"I don't wish to harm you, frankly I'd prefer to keep your blood off my shirt." Isaac spoke calmly, staring the drunk down, gripping the handle, the blade inside partially drawn.

Stare the man down, if he makes a threatening motion, dodge it, take him out non-lethally.
