But how to force them to drop the XclothingX and XXclothingXX they start with? I tried to forbid it or dump it, to no avail. And this is these clothes that make them unhappy when rotting away. I produce thousands of trousers, tunics and shoes, but I cannot afford (and do not want) to produce mittens or other crap.

I suppose this must do. But the huge amount of dump jobs creates means that I have to use dfhack for other dumping, otherwise the dwarves would never do it between sieges. I wish I had a cart track leading to the killing ground...

Ah, soon enough.  Then set up a switch yard:
Goblinite, express route to smelters
Troll fur thongs, clothing stockpile
x and above clothing, back upstairs to the trade depot
