We need you for further Godhoods.

Further? There's still one running. I am actually working on the update, and have been for the past while, but I am just making progress very, very, very slowly.

Assuming the update comes at the anticipated date, the average so far indicates that we can expect one turn roughly every three months and a half. That needs to improve, Caesar. I have no interest in returning to the game if it is to fall into oblivion again in two weeks, only to return in December. If you are not certain the coming months will see you with enough free time to keep the game up and going, I don't think it is still worth my time. Can we expect any improvements on that side of things?

Yeah. You can.
I'm going to employ deadlines.

But I'd like to ask the players to invest some time into maintaining the Wiki we set up. That would surely make things easier.

Edit:

On the other hand, after considering your rather harsh - but perhaps justified - words again, I reconsidered my plan to update this particular instance of the game. A lot of time has passed since the last turn post, and naturally interest has waned. Suddenly posting a new 'Turn post' might not fix that. I am at fault there, although I believe that the way you phrase your request makes it sound like I have an obligation to run it, which, quite frankly, I do not. The only obligation is to myself, since I am, in the end, the only person who is taking responsibility for the game (which is also my choice). Managing Godhood is and was an extremely engaging activity, but I do feel the need to press that the reward for my efforts has always solely been in the activity and the enthusiasm around it.

I would gladly like to continue putting effort into Godhood. And I see that for the game to be successful, I will have to put more energy into keeping it up-to-date. So, for all those who have once been interested in the game, and for those, like yourself, who would like a break in the pattern of quickly-dying Godhood games; I would like to ask: Should I continue this installment, start a new one, or end it entirely?

I think if you have time and conviction, there's no reason not to keep going... Perhaps not this installment, though. I would play again, but I know some people wouldn't - there are those who've gone missing, and those who have lost faith. I don't think the game is worth going through a second phase of kicking out the absent gods and getting new ones in - that alone may very well take weeks, and then we'll have to deal with actually maintaining the cannon in a game which lost gods in two consecutive turns due to Deus ex Machina. I would be in favor of just starting a new Godhood for the simple reason that continuing this one might as well be a smaller form of starting a new game; however, do wait for other people to manifest their opinion. I may only be a loud minority.

I'll wait, then. If we will restart the game, it will take somewhat longer, but then I will also plan ahead further and set up more of a framework for myself to work with. This should help with making the game more efficient.

Agreeing here with Shootandrun.

But i think you misunderstood him in one point. Of course you have no obligation to run the game but in the end players don't want to invest much time and effort if its going to die after the second turn inevitably. I know sometimes or rather quite often one loses interest in the game he made or plain has no time or better things to do ( i myself am guilty of all three things on several occasions)
but in your case its a bit of a drag since your games are of high quality and you demand high quality, which leads to people investing time and effort to provide good roleplay and interesting characters only to see their efforts gone to waste.

Imagine somebody inviting you to a game of chess at his home. You drive 45 minutes to his house, play two moves and then he suddenly stands up and realizes he has an appointment at the doctor and asks you to leave. The first time you go okay, no changing that fine. But if you do that 3 or 4 times you are getting sick of it no matter how much you like playing chess. While your host has no obligation whatsoever to invite you and entertain you, it still shitty for his guest.

I think at least thats what Shootandrun meant (correct me if i am wrong here).

FAKE EDIT: Gah Ninja'ed.

I'll drop my two cents in Shootandrun and Ghazkull's jar. Its hard to care or put in effort if the game moves at a speed of a turn per 3 months.

Really, I'm guilty of a similar crime in a similar game, so I empathize with your lack of speed. Maybe try your hand at another type of forum game, like a regular RPG that requires fastness, but not quality. Shaking things up can really help.
