I would not be surprised in the least- I realized a while ago that I made a terrible mistake going to war when I did, limiting my technological and demographic growth. I have the same issue in CIV 4.

My problem is that I do the exact opposite.  I wait until I get EVERY technology possible before I attack.  While effective when it is done, if I ever met a rush player, I would be doomed.

Edit:Although I do manage to get an invincible defense working if given enough time!  And I know how to assault a base with defensive technologies.

Oops. Sorry about that.

Spoiler: Kingdom of Tarr (click to show/hide)

Maybe Irony is preparing to destroy everyone at once after you have all weakened yourselves with the war?  A strategy that has been proven to work in history.
A war on three fronts would be a fairly bad idea, regardless of how much more advanced I was than the targets.

Of course not!  You take them out one at a time, very quickly!

Yes, once Arcadia dies ,you'll only have to deal with Dunottar at first, and then Illyria and Tesunad will arrive together. But by that point you'd own about half the map, so...

Shit. I was not expecting that, doom's position just got about twice as good (since kaks's calvary won't be able to just pick off his production tiles and whittle him down).
Oh well, here is my semi-boring turn.

Holy shit fuck.  I tested the battle a couple of times, but I never got that. I really don't do very well when attacking, do I?

The RNG has smiled upon me... I'll get my turn up late this evening or tomorrow.

He really got stupid-lucky. Take a look at that battle log. First round of contact, 7-point chargebreak and a 4-point normal hit on the same unit. Next round, lancers gone. Three attacks to knock off those lancers isn't really that unlikely, but focusing on them like that was a serious stroke of luck. Once it was just the attack 6 horsemen and the attack 5 archers, the defense 7 halberdiers (who had only taken 5 points of damage total to that point) were in decent shape.

Hm... When I said "bump for the bump god" I should have more specifically said "Hurry up and post your turns already Doom and Irony".

Um, the link you gave me has the admin interface now, and I can't get a turn. Can you put up an HTML-wrapped player-interface?
