Non-insanse dwarf strangling recruit for no reason?HALP!

My beekeeper is strangling my defenceless recruit who was caught in his sleep,and is somehow interrupting what everyone is doing.
I can't get my dwarves to do anything.

HAAAAAALP!

Did he go beserk?  Check Other Units on the (u)nits screen, if he is on it, then have your militia kill him.  If not...  Uh...  Fey mood maybe?

1)There is no tantrum.
2)Yes,it was recent.
3)I like vanilla DF,no mods.

EDIT:
The beekeeper died of starving because he wouldn't stop,the recruit died a year later of infection in his chest.

Maybe the recruit was hitting on the same girl as the beekeeper. He could be considered temporarily insane, at least for legal proceedings.
