since this evidently isn't apparent enough: you can change form by thinking of animals you've eaten.

You return to your original form, and attempt to separate your mind from your body. Unfortunately, you fail. it appears that, for the moment at least, you are a purely materialistic entity.

Return to red-skinned, female demon form. With wings, tail, cloven hooves and horns if possible.

Look for a human settlement.

Then turn back into a centipede and crawl into the mouth of a sleeping resident.

Nah, I'd rather stroll into town as a naked, red-skinned demon babe. Walk into a church and ask to be saved. See what they do.

If someone tries to fend us off with religious icons or whatever, it will be much for satisfying to pretend to be affected and then surprise them, doing terrible things in the process.

You see a path leading away from the house, and follow it. After a few hours, you arrive at a town. A few people are out, but they quickly scatter at your approach. You walk up to the most imposing building in town, presumably a religious center, and an old man in a gray robe drops to the floor, chanting in some incomprehensible language. You decide he must be praying for protection, and fall over, writhing in fake agony. He notices, and tentatively stands up, carrying a wooden cross in front of him. As he draws closer, you pounce, ripping out his throat and lapping up his blood as the life fades from his eyes. Priest. That was his title. It appears you can absorb some bits of information from your prey as well.

Eat him. Absorb his memories. Shapeshift to match his body, put on his robe and cross and find his church. We have some confessions to listen to.

You eat him, but you only manage to gather bits and pieces of memory. The town is called Helsingør. He's the local priest(though you could have determined that on your own). Today is Sunday. The blacksmith's wife is extraordinarily attractive. Nothing particularly useful. You do, however, know that it is time for confessions, you shift into him, don his robe, and finish all the pieces of his body. A young woman walks in. This is the blacksmith's wife. The town church lacks any divided area for confession.

"I understand, child. You have known a man in sin, and the only way to cleanse yourself is to know a man in purity and faith. I will help you in this. I know that you are not an evil woman. I will be with you to cleanse you of this sin."

Don't eat her. Just sleep with her and watch the guilt. Spread seeds of anger and fear and jealousy and rage. Feed on those instead. If we leave a trail of corpses, people will notice. But we can happily feed on their emotions and they'll come to us for aid and moral guidance.

Exactly. We want to be quiet about who we are. We should also probably make sure that we have something to say to her to keep her quiet if needed, though we don't want to have to blackmail her. The news of her cheating would possibly work, but if we can find something worse without letting her know what we're doing, that would be good.

"Oh. well... if it is God's will.."

*surreptitious, totally innocent fade out*

"Now, my child, you must be sure not to tell anyone of this. Confession is a sacred act, and it is for the priests alone."

You can see the seeds of hesitation growing in her heart. Even now, they are a delectable taste, but soon, they will fully mature.

It would appear this is not a very religious town(Gasp! BLASPHEMY), for noone else is coming to confession.
