We should all prepare to be disappointed. With our luck, the slavers will be run by fluffy wamblers. Anyway, I did some fooling around with the Steam group. Anyone can join it now, even with a free account, but you still need to buy something to launch the group chat. It's incredibly easy to find something that costs less than $4 US, for anyone who cares enough to buy something for this.

It's a group, Cript/Taricus. Not just a chat system. I'll be trying to post the logs there for the people who miss out on sessions, and it's got a play of the week function we can use.

Cript, I get that you don't like Steam, I don't care about that. I didn't make the group for you, I didn't make it to satisfy my own ego. I made it for anyone interested, I never said anybody had to join it, and you're taking this just a little too personally. I don't know why you don't like the idea of a Steam group, but I must reiterate; You do not need to join the group. You do not need to use Steam at all if you don't want to. You're overreacting.
