I don't think an exercise room would be very important, the basement has plenty of space for that, and we can always do our exercise in a gym if we're really desperate. What we need is a spell room where we can experiment and practice to our heart's desire without risking damage to the house proper.

@Lil: We're talking about a proper enchanted workout room.

And, there's absolutely no way we can design a room that negates critical failures anyway...

--------------

1 Hours-Making sure the Kobold gets his dose of potion

It mattered to her, if no one else...

2 Hours-Messing around with the Gorgon Head (-3 Time, +2 Mod, +1 Perseus Protection)

Kathryn had naturally removed the Gorgons head once she had killed it, and stuffed it in a burlap sack. Out of curiosity, she decided to see if the head still possessed any petrification powers, as the legends said. She strapped on her defenses, removed reflective surfaces and warned everyone out of the basement for the duration of the experiment.

Her target would be Alera, one of her parrots-she wasn't too concerned, since at worse, they could bring the birdy back with the rest of the stoned paparazzi.

6 Hours-Experiment with Water Effects, New Spell: Pressurize Water (+2 Time, +2 Mod, +1 Focus, +2 Comfortable casting)

Kathryn knew the first step to turning her water magic into offensive force was manipulating the pressure within-it was the difference between a splash in the face and a bone crunching tidal wave.

3 Hours-Looking for a Performance Magic Club as suggested by Kestrel (-1 time, +1 Mod, +1 Kestrel Help, +2 Negotiation, +1 Personal Transportation)

Kathryn was intrigued by further applications of her magic-particularly the physical enhancement and transmogrification. Kestrel had offered to give her some leads into the various clubs that specialized in it-and, she would take him up on it.

I never said anything about room that's critical-proof. I suggested a room where we can practice magic that would keep the brunt of potential damage from reaching the house proper. We kind of need that. We have two areas in the house for magic right now, and we haven't exactly had great times forever in either of them.(a flood, two unfortunate tomatoes that had to be shot down in their prime, a zombiebearplant, a random giant ooze, making someone into even more of a vampire...) And both of those areas have shown potential to cause permanent damage to the house if we get unlucky in them.

If you limit me from harming the house, the crit fails could be muuuuuuch more damaging to the individual. Just sayin.

@Grek: I think you nat 100'd that emerald rod usage. I'm not going to make you roll anything to keep the naga under control.

Kings of the Road: (4 Days Left) A biker gang has been terrorizing Chinatown. The gang, calling themselves The Pharaohs, consists of and victimizes mostly of mundane people. Mages and demons however make up the leadership of the group. They must be stopped.
Don't Drop the Soap: (4 Days Left) The prisoners within The Orange County Penitentiary for Supernatural Affairs were put into suspended animation when the archmages started dying. We have detected that somebody has breached the prison and is thawing out the prisoners a few at a time! Investigate.
(NEW) Enemy Mine: (7 Days Left) Thanks to a snitching Kobold, all parties involved now understand the the LA werebeing community is heading for civil war. Both sides are racing to fetch the Moonbane Weapons; poweful artifacts meant for killing werebeings. Ruffian has sent his goons to fetch it, and our allies have hired somebody perhaps just as bad...

I might not be projecting this entirely. The room I'm proposing isn't meant to stop crits. It would have a side bonus of lessening the extent of their damage to the house proper, but its primary function would be to give us space to safely make spells that are big, flashy, or dangerous. Space that isn't an indoor garden or the basement.

Chore Board:
Building Bricks - The inter-dimensional construction crew is looking for some mage help in building a new office in town. Magical building skills a plus.
Ghostbusters - A local paranormal group has started to find actual evidence of ghosts! If this gets out it might break the society's flimsy cloak of secrecy. Help is needed to fix the issue.
Hothothothothot - A cult of the flame goddess Affriena requires some help. The cult is set up in downtown LA, and several terrorism attacks from mundanes using water balloons have started to harm baby fire elementals being raised in the building. Find out who is behind the attacks and stop them.
Mommy? - A magical pet shop has need of a exotic animal parent. You will temporarily take care of a gryphon cub for three days, and paid extensively upon return of the cub and completion of the job.

Current Shoppe(changes periodically):

2a Gingerbread House Seed (1 in stock) - The label on the tiny seed packet promises a two story house made of edible materials grown overnight. Be sure to plant in a clear area of 30x30 feet.
3a Magus Tome (1 in stock) - This magical tome gives a +2 to knowledge related tasks. When read the pages are blank, but when researching or attempting a ritual, one can open the book and focus on your task and the ancient spirit bound within it will write tips in the pages. Warning: The Spirit is Neutral Good, using the book for evil actions that the spirit disapproves of will result in misdirection. Thus evil actions get a -2 if this book is used.
5a Aura House Coupon - (10 in stock) - These coupons are tradeable slips of paper that hold a charged amount of aura. Worth 2 aura when redeemed. Limit 1 per use.
2a Smooth Ebony Pipe - (1 in stock) - This magical item produces purple smoke that when inhaled allows the user to see in the dark. Warning: Mild hallucinogen.
7a Pipe Fox - (1 in stock) - A long tube wrapped in red ribbon. Tohsaka mentions that it is a holy item meant to protect the owner, but says nothing more about the contents. It seems expensive for how eager she is to get rid of it.

8 hours: research internal magic(mystery theater +1)(time +4)(intuition -2)(difficulty: hard -6)[-3]
There should be a few books or something on internal magic around the manor. And if there aren't I'll look up information on one of Adrian's computers, assuming he lets me borrow one. I should at least learn a bit about it, I can freak out later. It would be great if any of the books have information about humans with it, but I won't get my hopes up...
4 hours: practice T'ai Chi(body +4)(T'ai Chi knowledge -1)(difficulty: average -3)[0]
I got enough from the library to be able to do the basics on my own. I'll probably want to learn a bit more before I try doing anything more advanced than a few simple exercises and leg strengthening workouts. The basement should have plenty of space for me to do whatever I end up doing.

You know what, I'm tired, my computer might actually be irreparably damaged, and I have a headache, so I'll be an agreeable person about this. We'll take the gym, and if I really want a dedicated magic room that protects the house and has space for bigger spell-making, then I'll be a man about it. I'll take time out in my turns to gather materials, and I'll build one myself.

I keep forgetting to mention this, but the passport and green card in my inventory should be indicative that Emlyn isn't a natural US citizen.

Eight Hours: Contact Terraphidite in order to get the portal set up and the Core to her.
Henry was very excited to get another chance to meet Terraphidite, since the first meeting was quite rushed. It was also nice to be able to do something for her for all the help she had given him. Hopefully now that he could visit her it would also be possible for her to teach him some things... First and foremost how to turn those people Kath brought back into flesh...

Four hours: Experimentation!: Experiment in a way to get that Anchor ooze under control.
It was about time Henry did something about that monster he made. Hopefully he could use regain control over the anchor ooze. Maybe the spell that Terraphidite used to bind the mimics to him could be of help? +2 intuition +? from it being my creation. +? from it being contained -3 to -8 difficulty

Hmm... Would we be able to delegate jobs to Palrour? Could be an option worth looking into.

Anyway, my job vote is for Kings of the road.

Now, for my turn(s):

12 Hours: Return to hell. "One can always use more firepower, and hell seems like the best place to get it, especially the one I was trapped in. I should ask Kestrel how to get there, and if I can afford that information... Hell's going to get invaded by a looter.

If not possible to beat hell up, Use this turn instead:
8 Hours: Coding Experimentation "Practice makes perfect, but while true perfection is impossible, getting close to it is not."
4 Hours: Magic detector Refinement "This app is useful, should fine-tune it to measure exact distances and power levels though, as well as being capable of identifying the effects of a spell or other magical effect."

Thus, is my job vote.

I vote for this, because I get the feeling time is really of the essence in this mission. The longer we wait, presumably, the more ground we'll have to make up.

Two announcements:

1. If Lillipad (or anyone else) really wants to build a room for their own for something, I invite them to buy the second gingerbread house and set it up on the far bank of the Styx with me. I'm putting the Oven of the Gods and possibly a small greenhouse in my gingerbread house that I'm hoping to plant over there.
2. I am buying Aura for 100$ a point. Must be willing to be kissed in order to facilitate the transfer.

Also, Job Vote is Enemy Mine, as that one is personal and we've already promised to do it at some point.

Yeah. I dunno. I think it might be a really really bad idea to get involved in that job. Ruffian is apparently losing the hearts of the were community, which means we are close to the point where we can take him out. But I think it would be a huge mistake to step in before the community is ready for us. If they take this as a sign of more meddling or god forbid a sign of aggression thing could turn bad quickly. It would be terrible if the community reject the sensible weres as acting like they are subservient to us even if they are not. It might be a good idea to let the weres handle this weapon thing on their own. If our guys win then fine. We stopped him from getting a powerful weapon. But if he wins. Then he has a powerful weapon. That he can only use on his own people.

I mean, as bad as it would be to think of it this way if Rasical did start killing weres that it might make the opportunity we need to step in and take over without resentment.

Also on building I can make houses and such made to order for like. 2-3k and a boat load of sand (which I am sure I can work something out for.) if you don't want to spend Aura or if the gingerbread houses run out.
