I think we already went over this sorta thing. I really don't have the ambition and drive to become a archmage. I'm not trying to save LA because it's what I do, I'm not a hero. I am only part of this because of a certain moral responsibility I feel, and once LA is stabilized Henry is going to be more then happy to retreat back to the Basalt vaults and spend the rest of his life in obscurity tinkering away with his magics.

Actually, that just makes you a better choice altogether. You'll just dissappear from the surface of the world after it's done, not doing anything in the city.

So, just to put this in perspective, Adrian would prefer an Archmage that A] wants nothing to do with politics, B] is married to one of the current Archmages, and C] hopes to leave Earth forever as soon as possible to an Archmage that A] has proven herself both willing and able to draft laws, B] isn't going to make the rest of the world think she was elected by nepotism, and C] has put down roots in LA and plans to live nearby pretty much indefinitely, just because you disapprove of what the person she's dating looks like? I don't want to say "you're being racist" but that's really what it's looking like here.

Look, if it was just the chicken lich, there wouldn't be a problem. Unfortunately, there are a whole host of other problems that would be dangerous at best if she did get the position. Suffice to say we'd have another potential shitstorm to deal with if that happened.

Though, looking back at Kathryn, maybe Ariel can prove me wrong (I'd surely prefer to. One of those good surprises.).

Just to clarify, I don't have anything against Taricus. I'm sure he's not actually a racist in real life and I've got no reason to think anything bad about him. I'm sorry if it sounded that way. Adrian the fictional character, though, is different from Taricus the real person so I feel OK saying mean things about Adrian. But let me know if I'm crossing a line there, I don't want to actually offend someone.

And certainly the same over here Grek. You're a good person, and Ariel is a good character and I hate neither. Really, the concern here is generally the timing and current political situation that the appointment is happening.

LA Jobs:

(NEW!!!) Cleaning House: (7 Days Left) Sapphire has decided that it is time to claim the old Halls of Legislature in the name of the Archmages. There are plenty of magical squatters that must be dealt with before restoration can begin.
Putting Down Roots: (4 Days Left) It would seem that a cult of Dragon Worshiping Deep Elves have established a portal somewhere in LA. They are shaking the city up in search of something or someone and making quite a mess in the process.
Deal of the Century: (2 Days Left) After winning the Battle of Castle Glory Mr. Travis' forces captured some of Ruffian's men. The prisoners claim that Ruffian will be meeting with Fitzpatrick the Lucky, leader of the Boston Archmages in a few days. We could crash this party and kill two birds with one stone.

San Deigo Jobs:

Bajahahahaha!: (7 Days Left)  The neighboring Baja Peninsula Magic Society has been trying to seize San Deigo as their own for some time now. The lack of Archmages to stop them is worrisome. Kill off some of their scouts and spies to make them think twice about a full scale invasion.

Legislative Issues: (To be resolved in Mini Sessions, Forum RP, or Turns)

The Trial of Carly Summers:
The defendant stands accused of Conspiracy to Undermine the Legitimate Magical Government of Southern California. Archmage Kathryn Lynch has been selected to serve as judge and prosecutor of this case, and may organize the format of the legal proceedings as she wishes. The presiding Archmage has the authority to call upon anybody in her jurisdiction to serve as a juror, witness, or advocate.

Open Archmage Positions:
Society feels that it would be appropriate at this point to have 7-10 Archmages. Until such a number is reached, anybody may be made an archmage with the vote of 2/3rds of the existing archmages.

Deal of the century. Especially now that we have a few more assets to bring to the fore on both foes involved.

Deal of the Century, yeah. There's no question on that. But I did have a thought:

We don't actually have to kill Ruffian. He's small time enough that just putting him away in stasis would be fine. It would also mean not alienating Dust, who could actually be useful to us. Fitzpatrick needs to die, though.
