Didn't Mechwarrior 2 have enhanced imaging, where it was all just the wire-frames?

Anyway I fire the E.R. P.P.C. from the far side of the facility then try for partial cover behind a rock/tree/ridge/hill/ditch.

Maybe. Haven't played MW2 in like 14 years.

the 'Mech unit is out of range. however, you fire at a Demolisher tank. it gets hit, and the turret explodes in spectacular fashion

I'll just be peppering the place with particles until something happens.

I managed to get Mechwarrior 4 working at last, and I must say that I much prefer Mechwarrior 2's mech customisation...

Move forward a bit, gauss them up (not alpha, individual strikes), then move behind cover a bit.

I'll stay at a long range and hit them with some gauss rifle shots as well. Only target the Medium mechs, tho, I figure others can handle the Lights.

''Matt Drecht here. Targets sighted, bringing in the support.'' Matt put his mech into position, attempting to keep about 800 metres away.

Fire LRM's at the most dangerous target. I think it'd be the Hellspawns, but I cannot for the life of me, remember the Puma.

"On my way in. You'll see me."

Charge in with jump jets blazing, land at max range for the med. pulse lasers, and target the closest target with my medium pulse lasers.

Stay out of firing distance for a while, even though my weapons are just as out of range.

The gauss rifles fire in quick succession, hurting the missile launchers in the torso on the second Hellspawn, you move behind cover as the puma fires it's dual PPC's, and they glance your torso. the Both of the Blood Asp's dual Clan Gauss rifles fire at the badly damaged Hellspawn, and it explodes from the amount of damage it has taken. Matt flicks the LRM target tracking on, pointing at the other Hellspawn, considering that it's the medium mech is the heavier. and it comes back to you, in convienient text form about the Puma, or Adder 'Mech. you switch targets, and fire the forty LRM's at the Puma. it looks seriously damaged. Everyone hears chatter over the comm.

"LEEEEEEROY JENNNKINS!"

As a Wraith zooms overhead to engage the enemy. it's lasers finish off the puma, as it hits Joshua Marakis' Blood Asp Center torso,

"Minor damage."

two Cougars and a Hellspawn are left. the HS is dmaged. the Cougars are otherwise unharmed. they apparently like focussing on the Assault Mechs, but not much apart from minor laser burns and plates of armour destroyed by the other missile rack on the Hellspawn.

Jump into combat from my superior vantage point (read: behind everyone else), guns blazing! (Fire the laser cannons.)

"Sorry about hitting your mech there. Overshot."

Strafe off to the side of the Hellspawn and finish it off with my pulse lasers.

"This is overkill, ain't it?"
Fire another volley (same method, i.e. chaining) and look to see (visuals) if other mechs are coming.

Hold off for a second, wait and see if the others have it under control.

The Scourge is behind the pair of blood asps, as he fires all of the lasers at his command, they all hit the Hellspawn in the leg, nearly 'Legging' it in the process.

the Wraith goes full-throttle to engage the Hellspawn from the side, firing Pulse lasers, taking off it's arm. Damnit.

"Definitely. Something isn't right" as you fire another volley at the Hellspawn. It explodes in a similar fashion, but now the truth is out. The Cougars have LB/X-10 AutoCannons. And they have closed in. You also see the base has one closed 'Mech Hangar. What could be in that?

The Cougars are closing on the Rifleman, LB/X-10s ready to shred it. You fire the dual Clan-Gauss Rifles at one' in the back, insta-killing it. Marakis Legs the other.

Hugh sees tghe hangars open. The mech appears to be a rectangle with legs, with tiny arms.... That is not good.

"They got a fucking Fafnir!" he shouts over the Comm.

Weighing in at 100 Tons, and armed with Dual Heavy Gauss Rifles, and Four ER Large lasers, the Fafnir is a 'Mech not many people mess with. And there is one here. Active.
