I pilot the Scourge. I'm not really used to mech combat but battlefield tactics are my forte. I'll be heading out to get sufficiently drunk enough to think straight in probably ten minutes- come with me if you feel like it.

3 days later...

The planet of Hesperus II was one of the first conquered by the WOB forces. In the Davion-Steiner civil war, it housed the production facilities of the feared Fafnir Assault Mech. Now, it has been made into the first of many weapons factories for their 'invasion'. Seriously, why tell a no-body merc with no crew?

No reason to rush into this. The remote landing eats up fuel, but it's better than losing the ship.
