Yeah, I joined the forums when I was 12. I'm now 16.

Anyway, I've had that a lot lately. I'm moving from home to study next Fall, so yeah.
You joined when you were 12? Your earliest postS must be even more retarded than mine then :p.

I remember VHS, my Grandma still has a bunch and we watch them sometimes. Gog I love The Lion King.
I think I'm starting to get "everything was better back in my day and age" syndrome.

Anything that is in the world when you’re born is normal and ordinary and is just a natural part of the way the world works. Anything that’s invented between when you’re fifteen and thirty- five is new and exciting and revolutionary and you can probably get a career in it. Anything invented after you’re thirty-five is against the natural order of things.

I picked up a couple VHS players a few years back, just so I'd have backups for when mine failed. The tapes will probably die before it does, though. I'm not actually old enough to remember when 8-track was a viable format, but I have heard horror stories.

8 track was no worse than laserdiscs...

And...? Besides, they aren't exactly comparable items; the former was a format primarily for music, the latter for films. The former achieved commerical success (in the US), while the latter did not (in the US, or Europe and Australia for that matter). The former makes recovering old recordings from small-time bands an absolute pain, the latter is irrelevant because there it had contemporary alternates and would be much less likely to hold anything that isn't available elsewhere.

How do I carve bones? Like where? Does it require a workshop at all?  :-[

Well. Less retarded and more newbish, but yeah. I seem to have lurked for two months before posting, and I remember 'registration being closed, please try again at a later date'.

Also, this is my 3000th post. I've come a full circle.

I don't generally feel old, I mainly feel too young. Especially when I think about what my job is, and I realize how insane it is that the Navy is trusting a bunch of 20-25 year old guys to operate a nuclear reactor several hundred feet under the water...

I'm only 16 and I still have VHS videos lying around from when I was younger, starwars, 4-6, 1-3, and a bunch of other things. We only had a VHS player for a while so we bought those even when CD was the norm.

You know whats strange about a type writer, there was this girl at a summer camp I went to like 2 years ago, who had one. She was gunna be there for like 2 months (her mom worked there so she had to stay there) and she decided to do her summer reading essey on it. I was amazed, not only that someone 13 years old at the time would be using a type writer, but that she was going to be doing her summer home work when she could be oding so many better things.

We still have our VHS player, and use it, too. We also buy VHS's for it from thrift stores, along with audio cassettes (would you believe that modern CD players still have cassette capability?)

My daughter uses the VHS tape player. I grew up with a record player in my room. :\

What, like a turntable? We have one (and something like 800-1000 records), and use it more than the CD player. Might be nostalgia speaking, but hearing music from vinyl through a pair of good speakers is never going to be obsolete.

Yes, like a turntable. It also had an 8track player, but we never had any good 8tracks. Oddly enough, CDs were released to the American public the year I was born.
