It's implemented in Unity isn't it? I'm pretty sure that has mac support, so it would probably be doable.

I wonder why some people use macs for gaming sometimes, though. Macs are better equipped to look fancy and confuse people who insist on there being a taskbar for it to be a real computer.

It's known as the Oppai-Kaiju effect. The islands of Japan generate a sort anti-gravity field, which allows breasts to behave as if in microgravity. It's also what allows Godzilla and friends to become 50 stories tall, and lets ninjas run up the side of a skyscraper.

Isn't a Mac just a more expensive PC with less control over configuration?

That said ... Macs don't use alien hardware or anything. Macs can run Windows via BootCamp and other utilities ... you could game that way. I'd recommend doing that so you can enjoy whatever games you want, but it's your decision. (Goes both ways, too: Hackintosh builds!)

More expensive, different OS, less chioce of parts (excluding hackintoshes).

A few random things that bug me about this game:

The difference that luck makes in map generation is way too huge in my opinion, in one game you can start on a 5 planet system, with three or four immediately colonizable multi-planet systems with good starting planets and useful anomalies within range. In others you start with 1 or 2 planets in your home system, and find barely anything besides nearly uncolonisable systems (eg. barren, arid, lava, gas giant) or small systems in your immediate surroundings.
Luck in placement is just as important as actual skill as far as I can tell, which really bugs me (eg. in one game by turn 100 i had basically won, and had steamrolled all my enemies (who all got terrible starting positions), and had multiple 30 population systems which could build dreadnoughts which they couldn't even harm within three turns each. In another game I had 10 systems by that point and it took me 10 turns to build a cruiser at a planet, and was in a war I couldn't really win. Starting placement luck should make a difference, but the difference it makes is obsenely large in this game (although it will probably get ironed out).

The camera in battle annoys me, as well as the fact that it is very hard to tell the difference between ship classes (if they are side by side in the same battle its fairly easy, but if they aren't a dreadnought and a cruiser look largely the same).

Another thing that minorly bugs me is that you can build buildings that have no effect on your system (wheras they should just be invisible if they are totally useless).

Arid is not even nearly uncolonizable. I take them whenever I can. Same with tundra.

Sure, Ocean, Terran and Jungle are the best.

The problem isn't actually that they are nearly uncolonisable the problem is the massively slow rate of return compared to better systems, taking +30 turns to get to population two or complete the structure that gives +10 industry without a great leader there.
In those same thirty turns, a great system could get to twenty population, complete a dozen structures, and pumped out a few colony ships and war ships (speaking from personal experience, I put a leader in a good system, and it was still a outpost while it had 25 population and 300 production).

The ships definitely look cool, very organic. I also like the idea of having single-celled organisms as the diplomatic species in this game (isn't that usually reserved for the humans?).

The humans are either the diplomats, the traders, or one of the warriors.

So I was looking around the website for the first time, and I saw this picture:

They lack the distinct green glow of doom.
Otherwise yeah, Necrons.

Edit: Woo for update. The resolution changer is working.

how are you guys playing this? I can't see anything whatsoever on their page about this.
It's on Steam as a sort of paid alpha/beta test. When you pre-order you gain access to the game and have greater say in how it is developed.

ETA: I finally managed to get enough bux together to buy Emperor Edition! Downloading now! :D

Sorry for double-posting, but where do you go to acquire all the bonus goodies you get for purchasing the alpha?
