Military screen has the Retrofit (upgrade) options. You have to be at one of your own planets to do it. Click a fleet first.
Saves can cause bugs right now, I'm pretty sure they were working on that.

Also, you still get Dust. Top left corner of the system screen shows the system 'profit'.

It's known as the Oppai-Kaiju effect. The islands of Japan generate a sort anti-gravity field, which allows breasts to behave as if in microgravity. It's also what allows Godzilla and friends to become 50 stories tall, and lets ninjas run up the side of a skyscraper.

I know you do, but not nearly as much as when your system 300+ industry, on account of two desert planets with tons of pop, and an industry specialised hero governor :)

You get more dust from dust-focused planets, though. I think Arid is the best there.

I always assumed this stuff was random, as were heroes, etc?

The galaxies are random, but the planets being more or less good is not. They all have tooltips you can see by hovering over the planet type, and some have better areas than others.

Science: Arctic, tundra, one of the gas giants (helium?)
Dust: Desert, arid, hydrogen? gas giants
Production: Methan gas giants, lava, forget the others
Food: Ocean, jungle, terran.

Ocean is also rather useful for science, due to just how many dang people you can fit on one of a good size.

Yeah, that's what I thought. What Olioli said suggested that some of the systems/planets were pre-made:

One of the gas giants has 10 base dust.

Tried this game out today, I really liked it, especially the combat, it's quick and to the point. I really wish the camera was a bit more dramatic though, and some combat chatter would be especially nice.

I really hope they add some hangar bay modules so we can create some carriers.

One thing that I found lacking is that there is no apparent way to scout an enemy force so see what is their armament, type of ships etc..
It make the card selection a bit of a gamble since it's hard to tell what is their load out. I might have missed something though.

You can see the enemy fleet's attack and defense capabilities in the screen that pops up before you enter combat.

Yeah, but not how many missiles, lasers, if it has shields or mostly hull upgrades. Those should not be learned for free, but I'd like some stealth or scanner tech that would allow some recon type ship. Or some kind of spying tech would work also.

It tells you how much offensive and defensive power in all three categories each enemy ship has if you mouse over (or possibly right click) the enemy ships in that window, which has been enough for me.
