I'd figure that China(and Asia in general) has a fair share of its own Natives within their historic backgrounds too.

China is a big place with some real interesting history and a whole lot of different peoples with their own cultures. Not surprising that some of them mirror some native american imagery. (Though not sure which american natives had that particular imagery?)

On a completely different note, I've wanted to visit China for a while simply because that's where some of my favorite Westerns are set. I think RedKing might be familiar with the one that tops the list.

Though that's a pretty stupid reason to visit a place... but hey, works for New Zealand! They built a whole town for people who come to visit thanks to LotR

The Mojave or Apache would probably be a pretty good fit.

Yeah. Google image search 'Apache blanket' or somesuch and you'll see what I mean. It's not an exact match, but that's the first thing that came to mind without knowing it was specifically a Chinese-only racist ethnic park. I figured it was just a really bad attempt at Indian 'art'.

Honestly, it looks like half a dozen different patterns I've seen in half a dozen different cultures from half a dozen different places around the globe. There might be some distant ancestral pattern they all come from, but it could simply be human aesthetics.

Besides, it's not all that strange of a park. Look at Walt Disney World's Epcot. You've got half a major theme park there which is nothing but dated, naive and often somewhat racist stereotyping of a dozen different nationalities.

I actually took some Germans to Epcot last year, we ate in "Germany." They were so embarrassed and really hoped that's not what Americans thought Germany was really like. They were even from Bavaria, where lederhosen are OCCASIONALLY still worn. You can still expect the 5 liters of beer though if you want. That's totally true, they can really put it away over there.

It kinda says something that the three most popular US TV shows in China when I was there were Seinfeld, Friends and 24. So they think we're all hipster comedians having zany fun in our upscale apartments, when we're not having car chases and shooting each other. But at least they're zany car chases and gunfights.
