as I have somehow failed to do so so far, im PTW and will consider this mod next time i get around to playing DF again instead of reading the forums

Only option is to hope that other GEM_PREF civs have access to them. If not you make make a ENTITY that will always have them so you can trade for them.

How to make this trading civ.

Well you need the ENITY

and two reactions

[REACTION:UD1]
   [NAME:udmib]
   [BUILDING:SMELTER:NONE]
   [PRODUCT:100:1:SMALLGEM:NONE:INORGANIC:SUNSTONE]

[REACTION:UD2]
   [NAME:udmib2]
   [BUILDING:SMELTER:NONE]
   [PRODUCT:100:1:SMALLGEM:NONE:INORGANIC:MOONSTONE]

both of these are right from REGEN's corpse, and altered
and these in your trader entity:
[PERMITTED_REACTION:UD1]
[PERMITTED_REACTION:UD2]

also from REGEN

This lets the entity make them at will, so they will always have them for trade

I'll put that on the dwarven civilization.

Keeping an eye on this as well. Always liked dragons.

Now you can play as them!

Questions

How would you make a building only use magma-proof building materials?

Can [BUILD_MAT] be on more than one material?

And, why has no one commented on this:

By, can [BUILD_MAT] be on more than one material, I meant on more than one different [BUILD_ITEM] materials.

@Question:  In MTG (don't trust my answer completely), dragons are four legged like europeans, and drakes look like wyverns.

Build_mats = no
you would need another BUILD_ITEM with your other material.

Buuuuuut. if you mean an either/or kinda thing like "gold or silver statue" then you need a REACTION_CLASS on GOLD and SILVER materials

so placing [REACTION_CLASS:GS] (Gold Silver) on GOLD and SILVER in "inorganic_metals" then your building would use:

[BUILD_ITEM:1:STATUE:NONE:NONE:NONE][REACTION_CLASS:GS]
Which means it needs a statue made from anything labled GS which is GOLD or SILVER in this case

No, [BUILD_MAT] is listed after the [BUILD_ITEM:ect.] as its own tag.  I want to know if it is possible to put it after, on the same line as the [BUILD_ITEM:ect.] tag

Exile castes renamed!
Exiles now show up as enemies!
Firebrand!
Perfect Sunstones and Perfect Moonstones!
I forget what else I did!

Post any and every bug you find here that pertains to the mod.

EDIT: Bug-fix 0.5.1 out.

The tags don't even have to be on the same line

[BUILDMAT]
[WORTHLESS_STONE_ONLY]

They will grab any acceptable tag up until another [BUILD_ITEM] or [BUILDING]

I edited my last reply with a better explaination to the workings.

and

[GEM_PREF] allows them to bring GEMs yes, but only if they have it in range of their civ. Maybe where you civ is they only can get rubies and sards, so your home civ and embark will only allow them to bring those cause that is all they have ready.

So if your home civ has no access you better hope where you embarked has natural Sunstones and Moonstones to dig up.

Huh. I just got a single tile of Adamantine on my mountain embark. Did you make it so that Adamantine would appear in veins?

Are you supposed to only be able to make alloys at the Dragonic smelter?

I wholeheartedly agree.  I only asked because ZTG claimed they were a thing, and I'd never heard of them before, and neither has the first page of google.  I only mentioned it because I was convinced that "Dragonic Civilization" was a thread title typo, and I thought I'd do a public service by bringing it to someone's attention, but then I found out it wasn't a typo and dracons were a thing.  After all, Draconic is a word, meaning of or relating to dragons, while dragonic isn't really a word.  ZTG is of course entitled to name his mod whatever he chooses, however I can't possibly be the only one scratching my head.  That said, I'll stop nit-picking and let you get back to the hard work and fun of making another mod for the game we all love.  Cheers.

While adding magma to anything will make it dwarfy, adding the word "magma" to your post does not necessarily make it funny.
