A tower suspiciously close to a town.

I "accidentally" jammed every door open, triggering the death charge of many zombies and humans, and enjoyed the delicious blood shed that ensued.

Also I once stumbled upon a circle of highly armed philosopher-Dorfs who lectured me on the praises of various Dorf deities, one of which I found to be armed with steel, whilst they were killing a Roc. They won. Whilst casually spreading the Dorf pantheon to wandering adventurers.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

I can not advance move to the open space; the floor is only 1 z-level below it. There is no water fall, either.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

I was able to dive down into the water and move onto the ground. O.o

A castle thing taken over by bandits. It was pretty cool, to be honest. Well, it's not the strangest. That would go to cracks leading down to hell and glacier boxes.

A child and a guy sitting in a room, blood everywhere (I think), and the guy was injured.

Had a dwarf make a stone figurine of the vampire queen that led the dwarf civ for my fortress, then my engraver's carved the figurine like 10 times in one nobles room >.>

A few houses and a bridge that got flooded in a couple turns. This was before 34.xx though.

Found a half-a**ed major river flowing through and spilling its contents.

River's alignment was one Z-level higher than the rest of the land, so yeah.

I came in the back of a shop and found a roomful of corpses. In the front of the store, a spearman was killing a dwarf. He wasn't hostile to me so I was able to talk to him, and he bragged about hunting this region for years, and that he'd killed 11 humans. I strangled him and took inventory of the dead, and sure enough there were 11 unnamed human corpses and two named in the back, plus the one he just killed in front. I checked Legends and found the 11 humans weren't even notable kills; they were listed as generic humans under 'other kills'. And he wasn't declared an enemy of the civilization for that or for the named humans or dwarf he killed.

walked into a house to ask for a quest to find seven villagers pounding the living hell out of a dog in the corner. lots of dead people around this one house while all the rest of the city was perfectly normal.

once, journeying across the land, i found a basin with 4-6 waterfalls spilling into it from the north side.  when i arrived in this area, the basin was dry, and the waterfalls looked like they had just started flowing.

the basin (much larger than i could see) started filling extremely rapidly, and i barely escaped.

i wish i could find other such natural formations.
