I can help you out. You wanted to be black? What race are you? I can name a set and faction from there, really.

Black and Human. Grrr. I wanted to be able to summon evil dragons, I am checking on the colors to see if it is possible with black.

Not too knowledgeable about MtG as you can see.

Dragons are in pretty much every color. Now a black human that summons dragons... There are only a few mono-black dragons but it's entirely possible that a dragon with black as one of its colors would respond to a planeswalker of one color. Nicol Bolas does it everywhere. You're not forced to only use decks of your sets forever, just the beginning of the prologue.

Anyway, I would suggest Legends or Odyssey or Alara Reborn, as they both have multiple black dragons. Going it on your own is an entirely possible faction, as you don't have to be affiliated with anyone. IF you do Alara Reborn, I suggest being of Jund.

Bio:  Half sister of Ludevic, born from the escapades of his father, acknowledged by the father, but outcast by her own brother once the father found an early, unexplained demise. She swore vengeance to her brother, deciding to research possible applications of the werewolf blood in combination with scaab(zombie) bodies to build an army and march against him. One of her test subjects decided to wreck havock in her laboratory and before she could complete the spell to get rid of it created some nasty scars in her shoulder. From that day on she focused a little more on curing lycanthropy.

I just realised, there's no limit on the starting spell ... can you limit the rarity of the starting spell?
it would be slightly gamebreaking if one were to start with a sword of war and peace or something similar.

and one more question on the side: what's the right preposition for swearing vengeance?

It may be nice, since I am kind of confused...The "leveling" system for our characters could be based on the Cards Rarity. So that when we had "Uncommon level" we could have a better chance of using "common" type and severe penalties for trying something above our league.

i see what you edited there, however, if you want to talk raw power, consider the following:

somebody else: "that city harbors the villain!"
You cast this and ask: "What city?"

I do not think the land destroying spells will work like that, or it would be an overkill-fest.

Even if goes that way, the GM will probably ask for a huge energy cost for those.

Edit: @GM: How much are our passives weakened if we only pick allied colors?

Like instead of picking Black l White, I pick Black l Red l Blue. Would my passives be weaker with the three allied colors or with the two conflicting ones?
