The Journal of Sandra of Ulm Volume 4
Days after Father's death: 1
My previous journals remain hidden in the compartment behind my laboratory, a waste of paper, as the last one was not nearly full yet, but i digress, my halfbrother has banished me from the family estate. He is the rightful heir to our father's possessions and without a will to our father's name i have to find other ways to persuade him into giving me back my life.

Today i witnessed a Werewolf attack. The cathars around seemed a bit more helpless than usual, which worried me a little. This would have not been noteworthy if it didn't give me an idea, combining the brute strength of a skaab with the resilience and ferocity of a werewolf body would create a truly magnificent killing machine. A few days before father's death i bought the laboratory of Theodora Glick, from my knowledge she was killed while researching werewolves. However she resided in Gavony, and my name is not worth much there. Since the news of my expelling from the family has not traveled far yet, i will gather some resources and travel to the border between kessig and gavony, as that is the place where she, for whatever reason, chose to build her laboratory.

I hate traveling rations, that is all.

I have finally reached the town nearest to the laboratory. Nobody here seems to know me, lest for the local food merchant. I checked with the local cathars, they actually have most of her worldly possessions stored away. They asked if i planned to continue her research into a possible cure for lycanthropy. As the best lie is blatant truth i answered: No, i am planning on crossbreeding a lycanthrope with a skaab.
It got quite a few laughs, although some seemed a bit nervous.
After a little paperwork i finalized my request for her bequest, as in fact it is property of the Ulm family due to her high debt to my family.
The cathars asked if i planned on live in the laboratory and as my funds were dimnishing i asked if anything would stand in the way of that. One of them agreed to escort me to my destination tomorrow and a courier is to send the supplies and Theodora Glick's bequest after us.

I have arrived at the laboratory savely, but the courier is nowhere to be seen. The cathar that agreed to escort me is getting nervous, too. We will now proceed to scout the area for traces of the courier.
We found the courier, under assault, by a werewolf of all things. Luckily i prepared a spell just for that and banished the creature from existance. The courier was a mess. Several bitewounds. Thinking of his wreched state disgusts me, however his wounds already started to regenerate, and the woven blessed silver blanket, no doubt one of Theodora Glick's possessions was sizzling against his skin. To the cathar those were clear enough signs he was turning into a werewolf to warrant a mercy killing, however i stopped him from smashing the couriers head, as i needed a testsubject anyway. I used slightly different words, of course. As the courier was unconscious at the time i had the cathar bring him to the laboratory and bless a silver cage to imprison the soon to be wolf.
